Night Flight Detroit - Landing At Metro Airport KDTW

We fly with a Piper Archer III from the Ann Arbor Airport KARB to the northern part of Detroit, pass the Young Airport KDET and follow Lake St Clair's coastline to the Detroit River, where we enjoy the view on the GM Renaissance Center. Next, we enter the Detroit Class Bravo airspace, where the controller allowed us to do some patternwork (!!) on runway 3R at KDTW, even though they were quite busy with the handling of the heavy metal. Finally, we return to Ann Arbor, flying right over the Detroit Metropolitan Airport's terminal building.
Thanks again to the great and friendly controller, who worked runway 3R on March 11th 2015 at around 10 pm! :-)

Thank you. I simply asked for a touch and go. The controllers at KDTW are very friendly and helpful.

The description states you followed Lake Erie's coastline "down to the Detroit river." It doesn't look like you got close to Lake Erie, unless you flew down to Monroe. I assume you mean you flew over part of Lake St. Clair and then followed Lake St. Clair's shoreline back to the Detroit river.

Hi Michael, thanks for the hint. You're of course correct, I just updated the description.

@@transsib I'm glad you took it the right way, thank you. I was born in and grew up in the Detroit area, and I just tend to notice geography / map related issues. I no longer live there but happened to find your video. Maybe someday you can do a video flying over the Wayne State area for some good views. I went to school there.
