Ah Dom, once again thanks for the memories. Sth Perth / Como foreshore was my go to. There was no freeway in those days, no Narrows bridge either. When they started the freeway, (57 / 59 I think it was) we moved over to Applecross. You could hear the Italian net fisherman coming along the river. They only used oars in those days but you could hear them singing. Yes, in the 60's we dragged massive nets with 25ft tails. One good drag and you would fill one of those big metal baby baths. I was always the tallest so always got the deep end. Unfortunately, and in hindsight, the river was more polluted then than now. Although I no longer live next to the mighty Swan, I still reminisce of the fishing from her. Thanks for sharing.

My boss used go to the Swan river snorkeling to collect bait Saturday afternoon for when we went out Sunday, he had a 42 foot Randal at the mariner at Fremantle. I lived there in the late 70's early 80's I managed his factory in North Bridge, big mistake coming back to Sydney. Enjoy you posts Dom
