It's weird, but from what I remember, Barthmoss specified where the storage content was to be dumped, I really wanted to know why the contract expired in 2075 and why the content was dumped at that specific location

Bartmoss died from a hit (it is believed it was ortillery strike by either Arasaka or Militech. Still a debate on who pulled the trigger.). Once his body died, the RABIDs were unleash due to the deadman switch he had on them (See the Firestorm series and Cyberpunk 20XX aka v3 of the TTRPG). Johnny's words aren't a reliable source (Maximum Mike and the rest of the RTG crew always confirms this). Notice how Blackhand wasn't in his memory when he raided Arasaka in 2023, which Blackhand was leading the insertion team. 2077 is being seen through Johnny's eyes, and they are coming from a chip that had compromised integrity before it was inserted into Jackie and V. Great to see more people getting involved with the world of Cyberpunk, it has been fun playing in it for the pass 30 some odd years :)

Every time I think of the RABIDS virus I keep imagining those fucking Ubisoft rabbits running around the Net killing Netrunners. Hilarious and sad at the same time.

I can't help but think there's a connection between Spider and Kiwi from Edgerunners. Either Kiwi is who Spider became, or someone that learned some tricks from her.

@AlbexMrUtah mostly because of Kiwi's field of specialty, her implied age and her spiderweb tattoo. If she isn't Spider Murphy, there's still enough overlap to make me think she could have been a fan/protégé.

Kiwi would have to be grandmother-age to be Spider. Highly unlikely, but it's quite possible that Kiwi is a Spider fan.

@Rohan T it is heavily implied in the show that Kiwi is much older than she appears. Given how easy it is to hide your age through cybernetics, it's plenty possible any of the TTRPG legacy characters could still be hiding out in plain sight come 2077. Since Spider's fate and whereabouts are still a bit of a mystery, it's reasonable enough to think she's still in Night City come 2076.

Still sad how people call him, Murphy & Alt the best netrunners when they completely were amateurs compared to a dying V who can make anyone go cyberpsycho or force them to commit mass suicide. Theres a night & day difference of skill there & nobody acknowledges it. Fighting V would be like fighting Itachi except even if u dont look at me & Im not even in the same building or floor as u I can still take over your body no matter what 😄

Those exist because of the code and black ICE that generation of netrunners designed. (Lord knows I ran enough data fortresses back in the '90s with CP2020.) Yeah, modern hacks would slice through tech and code that old, but, Seeing as Alt survived as an engram, Bartmoss used his virus to make an A.I. clone of himself (it wasn't just about crashing whole regions of cyberspace...), and Spider is off radar but likely still spinning webs to catch flies who buzz too close - well I wouldn't bet against them if geared with the latest toys and tricks CP2077 has to offer.

You should read up on what Bartmoss has done in universe. Rache Bartmoss' Guide to the NET and in the Firestorm series. PDFs are available from DriveThruRPG or hard copy from R Talsorian Games. Bartmoss had a whole apartment building of people he had mind controlled to protect him.

I wish I knew when I first found him. I passed right over it the first time cause his name meant nothing at the time to me. Didn’t realize he was such a legend.

I’m sure he’s just chilling somewhere
