POV: You tried to go to sleep early, you have work the next day. But you can't. So you get up, get dressed, grab your phone, and lock your apartment up. You live in a quiet neighborhood in Tokyo, and your favorite book shop is just 2 blocks away. The old man who owns the book shop sees you coming and smiles, getting tea ready for two. You both have known each other well since you moved into the neighborhood 5 years ago. He waves to you and you smile warmly at him; he's been there for you and listened to you and your concerns and stories over the years. He hands you a cup of jasmine tea without saying anything. The steam hits your face as you take a sip; it's calming. Then, you talk about life and new books that just came in, and the neighbor he's had a crush on for months now that he just asked out on a date. You give a quiet laugh at this; it's sweet to think about a man his age having a crush. He's excited about it through, almost like a school boy. He stays open an hour longer for you and gives you some taiyaki he had. Then, as you both part ways, you go home, throw yourself on the bed, don't bother to get undressed and fall asleep with a smile on your face. It was a good evening.

@@skyhideaway it isn't a *feeling* is a *state* of feeling. A state of feeling can be a mental illness. And if you keep thinking that it's a mental illness, you'll never be able to overcome it. I know it is a mental illness, but please change your state of mind. I suffered from depression for 3 years straight, and i always told myself that i was ill and i couldn't overcome such a big illness. And then, i started to think it was simply just a state of sadness, and it helped me a lot. Have a great day, night or whatever it is.♡︎

@@LR-wb7zy I appreciate you trying to help, but honestly, depression cannot be changed by just thinking differently. I'm a psychology student and I've learned the details of depression. It's like telling a person who broke their leg "it's just your state of thinking, if you think you can walk, you can." Depression can be cured, but you need proper medication and treatment, not just forced positive thoughts. After you go get it checked at a therapist and you start taking meds, then it's your turn to try and make changes in your life. Just like how a broken leg needs to be bandaged and healed, before a person can walk. So yes, depression *is* an illness, and not a state of feeling or a state of mind. Have a nice day.

I think this other channel, Dan Truman Relaxing Vibes Music, is similar music. I like to make playlists with both their content to listen to at work.

Listening at night during a rainstorm is best vibes. You know, something interesting I just thought as I started this comment. Places like Walmart and sites like Amazon have everything. But the thing about bookstores, hobby stores, etc is that you get to meet and interact with people that share similar interests. I think that's something the world is missing, especially in the suburbs.

This is so calming. Feels so safe to be here.

And for a few moments, everything was right. It might sound naive and overused, but everything was more intense. The sweetness of the sounds hurt me so deep, so gently. For a few moments, I felt like I could allow myself to be weak.

These aesthetic pictures make me feels like to be at that place and living peacefully....

I miss going to book stores. All the ones around me have closed because Amazon bought them out or something. They also usually had a coffee shop in them. My parents would drop me off in the afternoon and then pick me up when the store closed. "Did you read any good books today?" "Yes several. Some I like so much I bought them."

This channel is one of the best things on youtube. Gotten me through many, many workdays during the pandemic.

That beauty in the life around you is art, you dont need to be an artist to make art you just have to enjoy and acknowledge the process that brought that beauty to life
