    People not sitting beside you in Sweden is because they want to give you your personal space since they don't know you. If the place beside you is the only one left and they rather stand up I would say they are most likely racist. Sometimes, people will stand to let older people sit down first. However, usually it would rather be a person getting up, giving an older person their seat. I have to say though that Sweden suffers from afrophobia and racism is a very real problem swept under the rug.
