The guy was paid by the independent production company used by Channel 4. Channel 4 have a hiatory of this - Cathy Newman faked a story from New York about being attacked by Muslims which she later had to apologise for.

I am non-white. I joined UKIP in September 2002, stood in 6 local elections and I would really be shocked to see this, that is why I find it hard to believe. It is possible that this sort of thing went behind my back, I do appreciate that. The BBC torment something chronic, I was at the launch of the Corby by election in August 2012 and I asked someone if it was here and he either said “f**k off” or “p*** off” to me and then I discovered he was a BBC journalist. The BBC journalists are well known for winding people up. I am very distrustful of C4 as they tried to wind up Godfrey Bloom. Him being an actor is something that is fishy. And also activist will not be vetted, only candidates. So that is not Nigel’s fault. C4 need to be investigated thoroughly.
