Here he tells us some stories from his time working there, and the stories behind two of his favourite animals - the giant deer, and the polar bear - and the ways in which both met their end and came to be in the Museum. I think it’s retarded to refer to an Irish elk as a “giant deer” seems counter intuitive to an education process that could be had with the public rather than running generalized parallels with sub specie comparatives of past.

It's a more accurate name considering it was neither an elk nor was its habitat restricted to Ireland
