We're kicking off the trip by hopping on Nieuw Statendam, which is the second-newest ship from Holland America Line, and a completely brand new cruise line for us. This seven-day Eastern Caribbean sailing was from April 1-8, 2023 out of Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with stops in Grand Turk, San Juan, St. Thomas, and Half Moon Cay... let's do this thing!! :D

Looking forward to the additional episodes of your cruise. We have been on the Nieuw Statendam twice and enjoy the Pinnacle-class ships. We appreciated the dance shows, but felt the technology of the screens was interfering with our enjoyment of the shows at times, and overwhelmed what was happening onstage. I have sailed on HAL more than anyone else so far and I do really like them. Definitely quieter during the day with less to do than other lines, however the night time entertainment is good. Blues Club is excellent, I usually end up in there for at least one performance every night. Billboard on board can be a lot of fun too. The shows are hit and miss but I feel thats the same on every cruise line.
