The images of Mayuko with her late father resting by a pond, admiring the fireflies and the stars in the night-sky, have remained with me throughout the years. I can't remember which episode it was, but there was a scene where Mayuko writes in her journal, and asks her Dad, to "please watch over" her as she falls asleep. That to me is one of the most poignant moments ever rendered in anime. I first watched this when I was 8 years old, and still come back to this ending-sequence from time to time as a way to reflect on Life. It still surprises me how so many things have changed, and how other things seem to always stay the same.

For some reason, this song just popped in my head so I end up searching it. I really miss this anime.

this is one of the best anime ED song ever created, so fitting to the anime countryside atmosphere, along with beatiful pics, not to mention great nostalgic-feel song really made this ED something special.

Just watched this for the 1st time a few days ago. This was such a nice show...so peaceful and so hectic at the same time lol. Seeing comments from 10+ yrs ago makes me feel a bit nostalgic since it reminds me of the first animes I saw as a kid

2022 and still loves this song
