Shes talked about relating to her character in Big Mood. I think her understanding of mental struggle is the reason shes so giving and high energy, it might have originally come from masking. But just because you struggle doesnt mean youre always unhappy. I think shes probably fulfilled, with the success and support she has right now,

Color Blind casting happened in the theater and in theater it means they will cast any race for any role, no matter the character. It means no matter your race you can play any role. Not saying they can’t see color. 🙄

@@earth2moriah ok well then it should have a new term then… cus I’ve heard people say “I’m color blind” which doesn’t make sense like someone being black isn’t a bad thing so why won’t you acknowledge their skin tone? Like obviously you can see that they are a person of color so why say that? If someone says that it means they likely don’t see racism as well. Someone being a person of color is a part of them so why say you don’t see it? It’s disrespectful.

The ‘color blind casting?’ Anyone who knows history at that time was Not blind to the ‘color’ of the people cast. Which made it unbelievable and very distracting actually.

When have you ever seen Egyptian pharoahs depicted as dark Africans? The most powerful Pharoahs were the 18th Dynasty, who were very "Black" from Nubia. So basically, EVEN in a fictional film, the only time you find something watchable is when non-white characters are depicted as either being villains or losers. It would make the world happy if you'd take a toilet plunger and literally shove it.

It actually did show tensions in the Queen Charlotte season and how they got to that acceptance. It's not HISTORIC ACCURACY mad because that's the most boring excuse ever used. It's based on an ALTERNATIVE history and the show states that so they can simply cast talent as talent shows itself. It's not meant to be the most accurate or entirely colour blind. It's just meant to show people.

The entire thing is alternate history. It’s half the point. If you don’t like alternate history-don’t watch. People aren’t even other races incidentally. They go out of their way to explain it as part of the world building because it’s alternate history which HAS ALWAYS been a thing. The Last of the Mohicans is an alternate history about one man having an advanced rifle before anyone else and no one complained then. It was completely inaccurate and that was the entire point.

It’s fantasy 😬 from casting to etiquette to costumes… they make that very clear! Try and take it as like Greek mythology retellings or any fairytales

I would just like to point out that Pen in the book series was not obese like Nicola. People like to say its body shaming but I'll be real. The Pen stories are toxic af she basically says i could die tomorrow you have to kiss me and then he magically falls in love with her lmao It's a terrible lesson for young fat girls, oh he'll come around eventually you just have to change your whole style and pretend you're going to kill yourself.

Also, what culture are you talking about? There are many dozens, different cultures in Europe. British actors are always playing Roman emperors, when in fact Britons were SLAVES of the Romans. So were the French (which used to be called Gaul). If you hate all dark skinned people, just say so. Don't try to sugarcoat your racism.
