I haven't read the books, but I felt it wasn't because he doesn't see all of her(Whistledown) and accepted her full self...yet.

Nicola is probably the best person to have to do this extended press tour since it’s split in two parts. She’s just so charming and fun! I’m glad she’s having a longer moment in the spotlight

What I have noticed in their interviews that differs from other celebrities is that they are so at ease with each other. They really do have a love and friendship for each other. Other celebrities are always like," I hate filming the love scenes. They are so awkward and uncomfortable." I have never heard these two say anything like that. They always talk about how safe they feel. How comfortable they felt. How it was never awkward. It is refreshing. I think that is a testament to them and how far the industry has come in terms of intimacy coordinators.

@@rant3044 while I am a bigger Polin fan, I am always open to other ships. While I did not like kathany (wait for it) in the books, I loved them in the show and wish they did not have to suffer so much. I love seeing them so happy now even if it is just a few scenes. We can disagree on ships, but we should also do it civilly and be open minded to others too. Nic and Luke and even Edwina/Eloise get so much hate they don’t deserve. Critique is one thing, but bashing on them is another.

I KNOW!!! I absolutely LOVED Kate and Anthony in season 2 and couldn't wait to see them in season 3, but right now I couldn't care less about either of them... I am entirely consumed by Polin, their story, their chemistry and the background beauty of the friendship that Luke and Nicola bring to the table. I am eager to see Eloise and Benedict's stories, but it truly feels like nothing will top these two dorks for me. They have my whole heart.

I think she actually made them uncomfortable a few times. Like when she asked if it was fun to shoot the intimate scenes. They both just kind of paused and stared blankly and then Nicola looked down and seemed uncomfortable. I think she and Luke have both gotten really good at talking about the more awkward sounding parts of their work in a really polite, professional and enthusiastic way, but sometimes the questions are still a bit too much.

I was gonna comment this! A mix of fresh and old questions. They really looked like they had a good time in this interview! To what the other commenter said, I think there's a nuance between "uncomfortable" in a negative way vs "flustered" in a positive way. IMO it was the latter - because as Nic says, this show REVELS in female pleasure and the female gaze. So many positive things can be taken away from the intimacy scenes for both the viewer and the actors. The fact that the fandom on instagram has plastered "Consent is Sexy" or how amazing the "aftercare" was on Colin's part on so many posts after the carriage scene is making me happier than one can possibly imagine. Or the fact that the Nic & Luke are so proud of how they carried out the MAKING of those scenes and feeling empowered is shining a beacon on how important it is for Intimacy Coordinators (esp. considering Hollywood history of horrible stories from actors about past intimacy scenes). I think it's so important to discuss - not need to feel shame or be uncomfortable about HEALTHY sex talk or relationship talks.

But I still think it’s still a rather loaded question to ask “was it fun shooting the intimacy scenes?” It would be better to ask an open ended question such as “How did it feel to shoot the intimate scenes?” Anytime the interviewer adds an adjective to describe the experience of filming the intimate scenes and then asks the actors to agree or disagree, that is a leading question.

Adding to the “horny little devils” comment, I really like how Penelope and Colin’s relationship fulfills many elements that the demiromantics strive for. I recently put a name (demiromantic) to all the feelings that I had about relationships. I am not much for steamy scenes until I read their book. Everything they had was so intimate and you are seeing the foundation that led to their romantic relationship. The sexy scenes were fulfilling because it was more than just lust. It was two people exploring their friendship turning more, but still having that trust, foundation, and platonic intimacy they had before. It was their little touches, their conversations, and their similarities that made me love watching them. While I liked seeing the other couples, they did not excite me as much as Penelope and Colin’s. I think this why I loved Francesca and John’s relationship. It showed another form of love that we don’t always see.

I totally agree. I'm asexual, I'm not into sex scenes or the relationships about lust, horniness or sexual tension. That's why I love Polin so much. It's really rare for me to understand sexual attraction, but Polin's story is an exception, because it is a story of patience, of friendship and of breaking society's rules and cliches

It's been lovely seeing Luke get more confident in interviews. Nicola is such an extrovert, and so press savvy. Early on, she did most of the talking. Now it feels more back and forth. They're a great team!

Bridgerton is honestly the best show out right now. I usually watch things like Game of Thrones or anime. Bridgerton is well written and VERY well acted. It's been a long time since a tv show had good actors and good writing.

As lucky the people who got to watch ep 5 earlier in the theaters (in Toronto & Dublin if I got it correctly?) are, I could never picture myself watching this episode, knowing the massive sexy scene it has, with that many people around me. Because this show makes me feel all sorts of ways and as the interviewer very neatly said there's a certain mood that takes over you, and it's not so much that the person next to me needs not to be exposed to that, but rather that I would feel exposed 😳 For the life of me I could not I feel for Nicola when I see her reaction, as she turns to Luke and says "tonight is going to be interesting..." looking somehat apprehensive, at least that's how i perceive it. Of course her reasons are a much bigger deal than mine. I'm a nobody, I am just watching. She is the one being literally exposed, and when we have in mind that disgusting piece of an "article" that's an attack to her body I can get why she could feel apprehensive. I could be wrong in my perception of her reaction of course. But if I'm not, girl that's totally fair. I can get that. It's one thing to see people reacting with tiktoks and such but a live reaction of what, a hundred people, or more? In the same building, in the same place, like almost next to you, is a whole different thing. That must be overwhelming, the thought of it. That PR tour must be exhausting. Sending all my support to Nicola. (amd Luke too of course !) Raise your head, stand proud, we love you ! ❤

It was her idea to be as naked as she wanted. She said « it is the biggest F you to all the body shamers » and she said it was really empowering to be the naked and exposed. She wanted to do this the way it is done. She was not « forced » to do it by the director.
