I remember that final. She was against the whole home crowd even the 2 commentators were rooting for her opponent and it was a complete silent when she sealed the last game point making her winning scream so obvious. That's how silence it was but i felt so happy and so much satisfaction when she won the match to conquer the 8th world title. Amazing achievement ❤

A friend, a very humble volunteer at some world championship event , got to be driver for Nicole ( and the Malaysian team.). He confirmed that she really is as gorgeously nice as her public persona suggests.

Nicol David was such a phenomenal player but on top of that an amazing person too. I met her at the squash club she trained at in Amsterdam and she was such a genuinely nice person, making a real effort to have a conversation. An incredibly inspirational figure.

I was playing in the U13 boys category....i remember her and a girl called Dafeny...i think Nicole was playing in the U10 category....anyways I won the U13 boys category beating Mohd Azlan in the finals...I also remember watching Ong Beng Hee playing U16 finals...he was like superman to us.....i remember spending so much time in the hotel lobby with the Malaysian team singing and pranking each other.....damn good old days....glad she had a great squash career along with the others 😊

it's all the more impressive when you consider that she did it against Raneem, who was the number 2 in the world in 2014 and probably a top-10 women's player all time.
