Never skimp on your boots. Your feet are too valuable. Unreal how some guys won't hesitate to buy a $50k truck but wont invest in a quality boot.

I LOVE my Nicks Builder Pro! These are the best boot I have ever owned and once they break in they are the the most comfortable boot I have ever owned. They are more boot than I will ever need since I am a desk jockey but I wear them daily. I also use them to ride my Africa Twin on the road.

I don’t think you need a resole after a year. You should easily get 3-5 years before that is needed.

Get your second pair on order NOW. That way when you send one in for a resole you are covered. Resole 3-8 weeks. Lead time for your second pair is 18-35 weeks. (as of this moment) If you watch one of the Nick's video (Are my boots broken) they will tell you to reglue the piece coming unglued on the insole. Easy fix with cement glue.

I’m not shitting on Nicks at all, but if you order another pair, which is smart because of boot rotation, get some JK’s. You will not have to wait like you do with Nicks. And they are every bit the quality.

Excellent review!!! I ordered my first pair of Nicks two weeks ago. I opted for the try on pair because I want to make sure my custom pair fits right the first time. I’m already planning on ordering another pair from Franks or JK. I’m a huge fan of Bison leather because of the unique texture and it long lasting durability. You’re right, it’s an investment in your body’s comfort in putting in long hours. I highly recommend buying a custom pair of Nicks or any of the similar brands.

Hey curious how spot on the sizing was and how much space it left in front of your toes? I’m a 8.5 in a lot of mass produced boots, especially military style ones. I have a pair of redwing loggers in an 8.5D and it has just a tiny bit more room than I would like. And I have a few Thursday boots that are an 8D. Any advice would be appreciated. OP please chime in too if you see this! Thanks in advance.

Checked this out because I’m about to put an order in for some every day boots. 10 MONTHS?!! Thanks for the heads up. Maybe I’ll give JK a little more consideration. (But Nick’s waxed flesh is so killer looking)! Nice little review. I’m a retired industrial electrician myself, lots of ABB and Fanuc. A Harley rider too. So, you’re basically speaking my language, and I know what you mean about climbing around conveyors, lifts, cap changing stations, etc. Not to mention the friggin square footage of the factory floors. 10-15 minutes walk from truck to job alone. Stay safe, thanks for the info.

Just got my builder pro last week in max support with HNW last. Were your boots loose at the heel or snug? My boots fit like a glove, except the heel, feels to big for me. I just want to know if it tightens up with break in or not. I haven't called Nick's yet,I know I can use supports for the heel but that would be a last thing. I would not want to have my boots remade, and find out the heel is snug, but tight at the ball of my feet. Besides,I don't want to wait another six months or so. Any ideas? Thank you.

Hey man how did you choose the size? What is your snicker size or comparable boot size (eg. redwing) and how did you size your boots? Did you size down? And does your feet have special requirements such as wide fit/high arch etc..?

Your going to want to go with the try on fit, I wear a 15EE in normal shoes and boots and my Nick’s are 13-1/2F. It’s an extra $50 but if you don’t live within driving Distance of Spokane it’s going to be the most reliable way to get a pair of boots that fit perfect the first time. You do a normal fit sheet with all your measurements then send that off, they build a pair of boots (these may or may not be built to the exact options you pick they are just to check sizing) send them to you and you try them on and call them answer a few questions then send those boots back. I’ve had mine for 3 years and they are still the best boots I’ve ever owned.
