I close my eyes and this song brings me back to spring/summer 95 my freshman year in high school. Even back then I preferred this version. Anyone remember single cassettes, I had this single cassette that slid in the card board holder ❤ 🌻 🙂

OH SNAP! (pun intended... maybe?) i read this and was like .. who is snap!? so i searched and then AWESOME MEMORIES attacked my brain! Then i got angry because music will never been as good as it was in the 80s and the first 3 to 3 and a half years of the 90s.

I remember this song in January 1995 I was 18 listening to it in my car stuck in a snow drift all night. Magical days .5 years later I'm a dad where does time go. Always a pleasure to listen to
I was born in 1980. This song was my childhood and now I'm 42 and still love her vocals and the passion she put into this song. I wish I could meet her one day but it will never happen. I bought her cassette single from coconuts back in the day. Wonderful passionate woman and song.

Had the privilege of meeting Nicki way back in about 92/93, when I worked as door security for a gay nightclub called The Vaults, in Rochester Kent. Nicki sang Total Eclipse of The Heart live on stage and both myself and wife said then, that Nicki was going to be a star. Next thing we knew, she was singing this on Top of The Pops and had charted in America too. A truly lovely lady and unlike some so called stars, was never ever rude etc, but always had time to chat and just be a normal every day kind of girl.Thanks for some very special memories Nicki, chuffed that you made a name for yourself.

Yes Bonnie did a great job back in the day with the song and I loved it, but Nicki also did an amazing remake of the song.... Bonnie's latest performance of this on the cruise ship however is nothing short of a total disaster of the vocal chords!!

Jerry Thompson met Nicki last year at Isle of Wight pride she sang this she's still a complete sweetheart
The original version performed by #BonnieTyler was more of a ballad, whereas the cover version by #NickiFrench is more up tempo with energy, techno pop

Holy shit… Nikki and I worked together on a West End musical decades ago, she worked as an usherette. We all went out to a restaurant one night long before she ever made it and the manager asked us all what we did, most of us worked in the technical aspect of the show except for Nikki so I said to him “she’s a really fab singer” After he’d gone she gave me a massive hug and said thank you so much she thought she was was going to be so embarrassed if she was the only one not doing an interesting job on the show. I used to listen to her demo tapes all the time when we were friends. Just shows you… follow your star!

Oh my God I'm watching this 23 years later for the first time lol. My best friend in High School used to love this song, i still think she does. We were all Juniors that year. Best version, and that includes Nicki’s “original version” as opposed to this dance version (or the actual Bonnie Tyler original.) The dance track is THE BEST! And the low budget video is kind of iconic at this point.
