Low key, kind of a smart publicity play given Nickelback, while still widely known, isn’t nearly as popular as they once were, so I’m guessing tourism from “Nickelback fans wanting a picture with the sign/to see their hometown” has waned quite a bit. By changing the sign, it’s gotten their town back into the news cycle as the hometown of Nickelback and maybe introduced it to younger fans who now not only have to go to the town to see the sign, but have to pay an admittance fee, a portion of which likely goes to the town somehow, to get into the museum to see the sign.

That's the problem with every town,you have half the community making decisions for the entire community and by god...all our votes should matter
