Lyrics:
Addressing those beneath from high above.
Convincing his belief for what you love.
Baiting every hook with filthy lies.
Another charlatan to idolize.
Is this suppression just in my mind?
No more questions get back in line!
Pay with your life, the duller the knife, the longer it takes.
But now it's your turn, the ashes will burn, and wither away.
Leaving your bones, out on the stones, picking them clean.
Carving the truth, while harvesting you, to feed the machine.
The gears forever turn to grind the mice.
Will you become the fuel for sacrifice.
Power absolutely all for show.
The piper blows his flute and off you go.
Is this obsession behind your eyes?
No more questions get back in line!
Why must the blind always lead the blind?
(get back in line, get back in line)
Why do I feel like the fault is mine?
(get back in line, get back in line)
Why must the weakest be sacrificed?
No more questions, get back in line!
(just get back in line).

Time for a stand… let this be the petition for a stand… for too long, we’ve been oppressed and put down… for too long, we’ve been the targets of being left behind be the wealthy, the people who can truly fend for themselves… for too long, we’ve been DEFENSELESS!! For too long, we’ve been subjugated by a corrupted government and brainwashed to believe the media… it’s time for us who’s truly “beneath” others to take a stand and make sure our voices are heard… the people who have spoken up haven’t been heard enough… including myself… I’ve lost all faith in current systems. Stand with me… it’s time to resist what we’ve been buried under. It’s time to rise against what limits we have and what we’ve been given. It’s time for a revolution… let this machine function no more…

For the most part people don't like the fact that they sound like " regular mainstream rock radio music " from what I have gathered over the years. I never understood it either. They rock, they can play the softer love song rock songs, acoustic stuff and the fast, hard and heavy. On top of all that, they smoke Cannabis, love to party, and 95% of their shows are sold out stadiums filled with hot soccer moms, strippers, guys looking to get laid and other party animals.

This is not metal more like hard rock. I'm not trying to trash Nickelback because I used to listen to them nonstop when I was younger. But in no way is this metal. I stopped listening to them when here and now came out that was there last good album. But I am happy to see there going back to the rock scene and not to the crap pop music. But this is no where close to metal in anyway.

I know Nickelback takes a lot of criticism every one has opinions however, my question is if you don't like them why would you spend your time listening to their music and giving your negative feedback? I personally truly enjoy their music and the lyrics. To say their songs sound the same then you truly aren't listening. Every band has their style or theme but in my opinion they have proven they can play the spectrum. To me that takes talent. so for all you Nickelback haters, here's a thought don't listen turn to another station, play a CD that you do like. Freedom of choice. #nbfan1

So let me get this straight. The media keeps trying to make out Nickelback as being "The worst thing to ever happen to music" or "Unoriginal commercial crap" etc, yet the same people say Nicki Minaj is a figure for female empowerment? It is quite frustrating that despite the state of most mainstream music today Nickelback still get thrown under the bus, when it's clear they're a lot more talented and actually play their own instruments.

murder at midnight the problem with Nickelback is that after Silver Side Up they became sooooo commercial, and they made songs that sounded all the same. With No Fixed Adress they made a nice change and they explored some new ways like Funk or some latin rhytms. Finally this album goes to a powerfull hardrock/alternative metal that I really like, hope they stay in this line.

It seems a lot of people here need to get their genres sorted out. This song is not too poppy and not to metally but somewhere in-between. That's where the 'Hard Rock' genre comes in. Regardless, I've been waiting for Nickelback to return to their 'Hard Rock' roots in full, so maybe they will on the 'Feed the Machine' record? Time will tell.

This song is absolutely amazing. I love the guitar in this song, and I love the lyrics. the part of the lyrics that I love are, "the gears forever turn to grind the mice. Will you become the fuel for sacrifice?" genius lyrics. People can say they hate Nickelback, but this song is badass. Plus, I can't hate Nickelback because I grew up with Nickelback. I know Nickelback because of my dad.

this isn't he most metal nickelback have been, then have way heavier and more metal sounding songs than this. thats the thing with nickelback, everyone seem to just know them from the singles, which well are designed to sell, so they are a bit on the pop rock side. but there have some really good heavy rock songs.
