Guy in the white was definitely using good strategy because he hung in the middle of the pack for most of the race, drafted off you during most of the last lap and left you on the last straight away.
I ran with the second fastest miler in the world,couple of days ago / age group 60/65 , at under 5:10 pace ,I held on for 20 metres ish ,I was actually pleased with that ,he was a 3x commonwealth Scotland 🏴,I finished a lap off eventually,he’s going for the world record,age group ,soon ,Paul Forbes is his name ,really nice guy

the man ran 1:42 in the 800, broke 4 in the mile...he was competitive in the Olympics and the Worlds for a decade...he had access to the best coaches...you'd think gleaning knowledge from Symmonds would be a no-brainer...I wish I had him as a coach when i was younger: maybe i would have stuck with running longer and won a couple more races. just look at the way he deals with young runners in his videos, he's supportive, fun, and smart.
"The Bison" was my favorite 800M runner....Not many people have ever gone under 1:43 but Nick did it...............great vid

Nick's times are better than Wottle's but with modern training and updated shoes who knows? Wottle was long legged and lean, and looked like a middle distance runner while Nick is short legged and thickly built and looks like a soccer defender. His performances are astounding for his physical make up.

@KaleKellerSalad

@@RishabhSharma10225 if what you’re struggling with is endurance than longer runs will help a lot, but if it’s breathing or cramping issues then I would run half miles at a quicker pace until it makes things easier

Sling shot?
@finch2213
3 жыл бұрын
Ever seen the movie Days of Thunder? That’s where I first heard of the sling shot pass. It’s about car racing but same principle. The runner behind the leader runs in the wind draft so they can move at the same speed with less wind resistance and conserve energy. Then when they want to pass, they move around the leader and slingshot past them. I suppose it seems theoretical (perhaps it’s maybe even psychological) until you experience it. Which I never have. Anyway, good movie. Slingshot pass happens. Tom cruise wins.
@gmaxsfoodfitness3035
2 жыл бұрын
@@finch2213 In Nick's case he meant sling shot off the turn. That centrifugal force from running the curve can be used as a boost aka slingshot as you start running in a straight line. The term is used in the 200m a lot which only has one turn outdoors (indoors has 2 turns) and smart sprinters know how to use it while using less energy than other runners and gain an advantage.
is nick the host?😂

🙄Turn off the news and go outside for some fresh air. For your information coronavirus aerosols can travel 30m in the air (close to 100 feet) so 6 feet of social distancing is pointless. They just wanna see how much you're willing to do and they love the number 6 especially when there are 3 of them in a row.
