Being a empath I would feel sorry for him sometimes and babble leaving these true stories hoping he would feel better. But once I got 30 episodes in then a year, I could tell when he was serious. But some days I just need to tell a story. I feel home here I like this community. I like Theo he's a good one. Big heart, a savant with wordplay. And silly, and doesn't put on a facade.

I never knew Nick wrote Grandma's Boy...easily the funniest movie from the early 2000's era. So many quotable lines, mixed with that off the wall, random humor. Also he was my fave side character on Reno 911 as the gay roller skater 😆 simply the best!

Something about these two together is the perfect duo. They compliment each other and respect each others conversational piece and opinions. They can be goofy and weird and it’s something special. It’s truly hilarious the way they can laugh about everything you can tell that Theo idolizes Nick and thinks he’s super funny, as do we. They are great!

The disconnect on some of this conversation is so entertaining, Theo was talking about 9th grade and Nick thought he was talking about 9 years old i was basically yelling at my phone

The randomness, the length of their improv stories 😂, the little sounds back and forth…just the best lol

It’s go great to see Nick sober. I lived in Key West during the time he spent over a year there and I’d bump into him at the same bar a bunch of times. He seemed great at the start of the night but towards the end I just felt so bad for him. I remember one time walking into the bar and he was sitting outside. I asked him how he was doing and he replied with a dead face “well I got outta bed this morning…. So there’s that….” Great to see him sober. He looks so much happier. All the best to you Nick!

Unless you've got strong personal hobbies like music or boating, Key West for more than a week sounds pretty miserable. Living out of a hotel and drinking all day every day? I have no doubt he spent well over 500k on that trip, we spend around $1k/day when we go down there. It's a quite expensive place to hangout .

He isn’t sober lol. He has admitted that he went to hard in key west and it put him in the hospital but he def seems to have a hold on his drinking now. He has also said he loved his time in key west and he only stayed there so long because he loved it so much so I’m sure he was alright he has dry humor

Necrotizing pancreatitis... shit is terrifying. I got acute pancreatitis and that shit was hella painful... can't imagine how Nick felt during that hospital stay.

I love how these two in particular can improv riff off of each other, it’s absolutely the best combo. They are more on each other’s frequency. It’s magic. I’d like to see a marathon improv back and forth with these guys.

I wish Nick was more into the podcast scene. One of the funniest guys alive. Would love hundreds more hours of him.

The Benchwarmers and Grandmas Boy are hilarious and his Reno 911 character Terry is classic! Lol. They are both on the same level of randomness and I'm here for it.

4:00 😂❤ my girlfriend, and I took a spontaneous trip down to the keys on a borrowed Harley in April last year. Our last day in Key West we rented a couple scooters and rode down to a random bar on the beach only to see Nick and an associate of his. My girlfriends much younger than me, and didn’t really know him very well, but I recognized him right away. he was sitting in the last chair up against the bar wall and seemingly pretty quiet so I didn’t want to bug him. I showed my girlfriend some movie credits of his and she said that he looked familiar and that I should go talk to him if I was a fan. I protested and said, instead, I would just leave him a note before we left, saying that I really enjoyed all of his movies and stand up and it was cool seeing a celebrity who’s comedy really made me laugh. At this point we were sitting across from him and the fans mounted above were blowing super hard in my girlfriends face so we decided to move to the other side which put us next to Nick and his associate. I told my girlfriend I was gonna go for a swim in the water for a few minutes since we have been drinking for days on end, and at this point, I was just obliterated mentally. After a few minutes, I came back up from the beach only to find my girlfriend, Nick and his buddy having a full-blown conversation, laughing and talking shit. She’s good at starting conversation so I’m extremely grateful for that lol. I stood there for a second with a blank stare on my face, trying to calculate what just happened, but my girlfriend quickly pulled me into the conversation and introduced me to Nick and his buddy we sat and talked and ate. And honestly just had a really good time he was telling us exactly what he’s saying now about how he went down there and just ended up staying in this resort for a really long time longer than he ever expected. Said he was trying to find a house to buy, but couldn’t really decide on anything or find a great deal. People kept coming up to Nick and asking if he was Nick Swardson and trying to get autographs and pictures with him lol I could tell he was grinding his teeth trying to be nice, but also just have a moment to himself to chill out. The point of the story is that Nick was extremely nice to us, and I think he respected the fact that we just talked with him like a normal dude. We all exchange contact info and him and his buddy invited us out to go to a couple places later that night, but we had to leave that day to get back to work the following morning before we left though the coolest part was he offered to take some pictures with us instead of us asking him which was super cool and we definitely got some pictures in. I wish I could post them on the comment thread because they’re pretty fucking funny.

Long read but such a cool story. I've watched Nick for what I feel like is his whole career lol, I'm 37.. he's hilarious. Given us all so many belly laughs and so many movies you can watch every few months and still absolutely love. He's such a classic, imo up there with Jim Carrey and Pauly Shore. Cool that you guys were able to have such a chill impression on him.

He isn't an alcoholic he is the hard drinker. If Theo read his big book he would know what alcoholism looks like but I'm not surprised. Theo isn't even a real alcoholic or addict. He gets some time sober goes out for a night and he parties banging bitches and then he stops. OH no you had the control and power to stop immediately. Alcoholics don't stop

@@anthonywandowicz8084 Addiction presents itself in different ways… anyone who has attended meetings at reputable chapters or has read the Big Book knows that. People relapse all the time, but there are many amazing people in AA meetings who haven’t touched alcohol in more than a decade but still attend meetings because alcoholism taunts them every single day.

When Theo said “….he was….just having paint…” I f’d up my attempt doing a winged eyeliner, almost stabbed myself in eye, and absolutely was keeled over laughing with a watery, eyeliner running eye for 3 straight minutes 🤣🤣🤣🤣

These guys chemistry is off the charts. Pure entertainment.

Love you Theo. You are genuine and it shows. Nick Swardson is amazing, I will listen to any podcast he is in.

Got famous on Saturday Night Live at the same time as Chris Farley (RIP), Phil Hartman (RIP), David Spade, Rob Schneider, Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Tim Meadows... Almost the entire cast of those seasons made it, great time to be watching it live.

Absolutely nothing was talked about this whole episode and I love that

im listening to the first episodes at the same time as going backwards with the newest episodes, and i think its cool hearing the same stories from Theo. Makes them more believable and that much more funny. Love the podcast, im trying for all of them my guy!

I can not express how much i miss nick's comedy. I still listen to his albums on a consistent basis.

You two are such a great combo! Trips me out every now and then when Nick is blown away by how far Theo takes it hahaha good stuff

Watching this right after his last appearance on the podcast was hilarious. The last one ended with Nick saying he was 2 months sober and now he's sobra kai. Then this podcast starts with him saying the exact same thing despite the year in between

I love when Nick is a guest. When these two go back and forth, it is laugh out loud funny.

I was so happy to see this!! I just discovered Nick's first visit on the podcast and he was one of my favourite guests ever, he and Theo vibe really well!

Amen. Once I hit my bottom, doctors told me I was very close to death. I am over 3 years sober now and wouldn't change a thing. Sobriety is so much better.
