Nick Shoulders, "Won't Fence Us In," // GemsOnVHS™
Музыка
Nick always has something bigger to say with little songs, and I love that. That is what we're all about here, songwriting that means something, to the writer and to the listener. So when he shared this version of "Wont Fence Us In", we were thrilled to hear it. A song with a long list of desires for a better world, recorded on a beautiful day in Tennessee, on a pit stop on a long tour playing shows for y'all, the lovin' music fans. He is passionate about what he sings about, which is half the equation for good songs. The other half is just being good at music, which Nick and the band have also got covered.
Did you know that Garhole Records (Nick's label he started with Kurt Alaska) is splitting a stage to showcase some of our favorites at Americanafest in Nashville this September 20th? Sam Shackleton is making his USA debut at it. Check out the lineup; pCu4xx-6OK...
You can stream this tune on Nick's new record, "All Bad". Listen to it on Spotify at open.spotify.com/album/4OfaqQ.... You can find Nick on Instagram at @neckshoulders.

The lyrical content to this sound resonates deeply with me. Sad how we started this country based on freedom, and now we sit here screaming war anthems of our time like this one at our owners who fenced us in. I’m willing to fight for the freedoms promised to us like my ancestors. Look up the whiskey rebellion. The government is not for us. It is against the people. Hearing this song, I know I’m not alone ✊🇺🇸. LET FREEDOM RING

Lol. We didn't start this country based on freedome. Rich people used poor people to create a colony for slavery and wealth extraction. We made it about freedome after the fact.
God Nick is so cool♥️
Love me some Nick. Great video!
A treasure, don't stop ever please
Nick is my American hero.
This is some good shit. Thank you for sharing!

Now I need a good cover of "Tear Down the Fences" by Ola Belle Reed
Exceeds all expectations every time. Whimsical way of approaching some serious stuff - awesome.
Goosebumps !
Roy Rogers would be proud 👍🏻

another head banger by Nick Shoulders
"There was a big, high wall there that tried to stop me A sign was painted said 'Private Property' But on the backside, it didn't say nothing This land was made for you and me" - The late great Woody Guthrie
This dude does not miss.
Fantastic
Wish I could whistle worth a damn😊

Realize this,,,we are not alone in the world. And it's a jungle out there, not "country..."

@westernlynx396 when you play in a band/ensemble that’s not using a click you have to watch the lead for tempo changes and pauses, you have to follow your other musicians otherwise it will all end up wrong … But even if she wasn’t watching for that, can ya blame her really. 🤪
Anarchism for the masses.
Tough guitar
I mean fences are a pretty needed thing. Still a talented guy.

I love all of Nick's music but I really wish he could leave his politics out of it. I want to be able to play his music for people to hear and discover his genius without bringing politics into it. I respect him and his right to expess his views. After all it is his platform and his way of expessing what is important to him. I will always get excited when a new "neck shoulders" song comes out but when the entire song reflects a political view I'm not on board. Whether its aligned with my views or not. Nun the less respect to Nick and all the amazing music he creates! We need more artist like him!

I appreciate folk-americana-country-n-bluegrass music alot and can appreciate the sentiment of protecting that heritage. But miss me with the woke sounding crap and I truly wish current political/social ideology stays void in these avenues
