SoundSwitch is off the wall! Im no DMX expert but this was so intutiive to program with tracks or just fly with the auto loops - seamless with Serato! Time to sound-switch Nick...?

SoundSwitch is fantastic. also you can pay monthly, yearly, or buy it outright for a 1 time fee

I picked up one of these to run the lights at Tellus 360.. it's SO fun! Really nice to have control over the lights in real time. The autoscripting is dope. Highly recommended.

The wolfmix w1 is awesome... I have a hookup to get one here in the US. Priced at $699 though is a bit tough but does much more than the control one and looks much better.

So it's been a year since you released this videon Did you ever invest in Soundswitch? If so, what do you think? I'm can't decide between Soundswitch and Wolfmix. Thanks sir for the video.

I jumped on the SoundSwitch bandwagon EARLY....I gave up after the first week. Then last year during Covid shutdowns I took the time to learn it. I spend about 1 week doing the upfront work and really learning how it responded. After that it has been easy to use. It really takes the lighting game to another level!!! I use a AKAI APC mini as a midi controller for SoundSwitch so you can achieve most of the Control One functions using other devices. But i will admit I almost pulled the trigger on day 1 of this release. Thanks for the video and other content!!

I’ve been looking for a good controller for a while and I’ve been leaning towards this one however I’m trying to find out if there is any controller that you can program or use with a DMX machines such as flame and cold spark C02 etc anyone know anything more in this topic? Can’t find much info

Been a Soundswitch dude since the beginning also! And I use it with DenonDJ Prime. And I use it with Serato. But FYI, you can buy it outright and not pay monthly.

The price is $200, and you only get updates until the next major version. So if you buy 2.0, if 3.0 drops 6 months later you no longer get updates until you buy another license. And if they offer one, I don't see anywhere on their web site talking about a discount if you're upgrading from an older version. I don't know how often they put out X. versions but if you wamt to always stay current it's something to consider.

I bought this item not realizing that my dinosaur laptop couldn't meet the requirements. Now I'm at a loss because I don't have any idea what laptop to buy without spending $700 and up. I simply don't have that kind of budget. I could barely afford the sound switch

I almost bought an Akai midi controller which would have required re-mapping. Glad I didn't because the Control One is a game changer. IMO, it's priced accordingly to it's function and ease of use.

This was almost certainly manufactured by Akai.

I'm a tech guy, but this Sound Switch thing is so confusing to me...I sent back the first one when it came out because it was so buggy, so do I need the original dongle to make this work or is this its own deal that works individually? Does each song need to programmed manually like before, or is this more automatic and on-the-fly now? Thanks!

No you don’t need the original dongle, this unit includes two DMX universe interfaces within the unit. You will, however, need a software subscription but a 3 month startup comes in the pack. The software has come a long way from version 1.x. No you don’t need to program each song individually, you can just start with Autoloops which will automatically give you a reasonable light show but to get the best,, tracks can be scripted. You can do the scripting now automatically for one or several tracks, the software takes care of giving you a dynamic lightshow by reading the make up of the track. You can then add additional customisation if you wish track by track. It really is easy now to get a professional result. To to get back on the pony kirby, it really is a great product now and I love it.

@@kirbykracklemusic The UI still needs work in my opinion but is perfectly usable. The updated automation is great and really does allow you to script multiple tracks with a few clicks. Multi select some tracks and choose Autoscript, choose whether to use default settings or override with your preferences and then away it goes and provides a very usable script for each, superior in my mind than defaulting to Autoloops. But even the Autoloops are improved and easy to customise, so it’s straight forward to ensure you have a good light show. The icing on the cake is being able to then take what you have done and add additional customisation to the scripting if you wish. Red Light / Green Light a classic track to use to show the potential. Invest some hours though to really get to know the features, you won’t be disappointed.

Nick, I’ve been with Soundswitch since the beginning and the software has undergone major usability and functionality upgrades. It’s easy now to get very professional results and this controller just takes it to another level. Time to put the effort in and get with the programme 😀

VDJ is an abnormality pricing wise, I can think of very few softwares that give you free updates forever. This one has a $199 option where you own it forever and get updates until the next major release. I'm pretty sure Serato updates are included for life, but Serato will be stuck on 2.5-2.6 versions until 2050 and nothing new gets added in the current rare small updates from them. And they don't fix bugs or really do anything to the software. Maybe they would actually work on the software if they it wasn't free updates forever. So the price here isn't a bad deal really. Well assuming they don't do something that'll make version 2.x stop working when 3.0 drops forcing people to pay $199 again lol.
