I think to say that comics haven't dealt with blowback for things they say prior to 2014 is a stretch. I recall Dice being banned from MTV and being protested.

Its not that people aren't joke thieves, its that no one should actually give a shit. Joe Rogan told us it was bad so we kind of were like "ok, guess its really bad" and went with it, but now in hindsight we know he's a dumbass and none of us should actually care at all.
