That generation of mid tier comedians are massively threatened by the younger, smarter comics. Bob Kelly did the exact same bullshit with Nick on his dumb show. Got insecure and started just tanking the comedy in order to stop anybody from being funny. Jimmy Norton is insanely naïve though. He misunderstood Norm MacDonald's entire schtick when performed at the roast of Bob Saget. The fascinating thing about those particular comics is they're infinitely self conscious, but have zero self awareness.

Trust me I don’t hate listen either, I change the station at that point. I only listen to the show for the guests at this point. It’s nothing like the O&A Show in its prime.

Everytime i watch this i forget how it starts alright until Jim decides to tank the other 45 minutes of the show. You have Nick fucking Mullen, one of the most refreshing young comedians in a generation and you let him sit awkwardly while your boomer ass fiddles with some black bar meme generator. It would be funny as a bit but Jim does it with absolutely no level of self-awareness and frankly it's embarrassing.

Jim the boring and disgusting minor character from Louie told a story about making an 8 months pregnant drug addict perform sexual acts on him, and also had the nerve to criticize ANYBODY else's fucking story for being terrible? I admire Nick so much for having the presence and tenacity to bring consistent openess and intelligence to this long conversation with two virtual strangers. Bless

Not sure what it is about Nick but he’s going to be the next Ari Shaffir. He’s funny as shit even when he’s not being funny. I am sure i am not the only one who has noticed Norton’s unprofessional conduct towards his guest. His childish obsession with his phone is beyond the pale. Kevin Brennan was right: stating that they are just there’re for the paycheck. Thankfully Sam was on double duty hosting the show and babysitting Norton. Nick is great and glad he has become a great success…

Sam deserves some credit for at least listening to Nick, talking to him, maintaining eye contact, not being on his cell phone for literally 40 minutes, Norton would be fired from his job for this even if his job was stocking shelves at a grocery store

He'd be fired for this if he wasn't the last remnant of O&A keeping the last few O&A fans subscribed to SiriusXM. If this show wasn't basically diet O&A zero calorie sugar free lite, they'd have been axed long ago. Jim Norton isn't a name anyone cares about without the O&A coat tails he's always gotten a free ride from. They sold his stand up tickets, they made his radio career, and they are still keeping him in the business to this day. He's like the Ringo Starr of radio. Both got incredibly lucky with a free ride and both are straight garbage at acting.

And yeah, Sam handled it the right way. He's not as bad as people say. He's just nothing special is all. He worked hard for many years to get where he's at. Jim got lucky that he came into studio with Dice.

I am 40 minutes in and have not came across that yet, but someone else said that Jim didn’t start getting insecure till about an hour in. I can’t wait.

Jim clearly has a crush on Nick, no other explanation for his behavior on this one

Every time I watch Norton I'm astounded by his lack of general knowledge about almost everything. Also comes off as super dismissive.
