I think Franky and Nick were the worst pairing in 3rd generation skins. Literally, his feelings for her came out of nowhere, the episode before he didn't even notice her, it wasn't like they were friends and he realized he loved her. It was like, oh i love franky even though I never look at her or talk to her. I didn't feel any connection between them and when Frank had to tell Matty about her and nick, she said she was fucking him. Not dating him, or that she liked/ loved him.. so...

RidingFree I think it made sense if you look at Nick and Franky as a character and their relationships with Matty. I don't think it was a coincidence that the two closes people to Matty grew closer when he was gone. There was some projection of feelings there. Also If you go back an watch season 5 its clear Nick always found her attractive and never understood why anyone wouldn't want to date her. I just think that grew after Matty left and like I said a lot of projection of feelings going on, Matty was who they were both closes two, so it makes sense for them to connect and grow close while he is away. But as we saw when he returned they broke really fast.

Katie A That makes sense, but they weren't really even friends even when Matty was gone. He just said he loved her and then they became friends. I just thought the love part was out of nowhere. Maybe if he said he liked her or found her attractive, it would make more sense.

I love them as a couple so much but yeah I agree about the relationship because rushed. I think what they had was really beautiful but wasn't given enough time. The writers sort of wanted a love triangle and brought it out of nowhere. But I think, had their relationship been given more time to develop, they would have been even better.
