True. Young men are regularly stopped because they tend to be the ones that smuggle drugs. Old people tend to bring plant seeds home to plant in their gardens. Asians tend to want to bring in specific types of prohibited food. You can tell a lot about some one just by looking at them. People do often conform to type.

I got stopped many years ago at Calais after a ferry crossing , I looked odd with my scraggy hair and i had just been to Belgium and hadnt slept for 24 hours. I sat down and politely gave permission to the customs officer to search my case , they asked me to open it ... my reply " you may open it , I have nothing to worry about" ....

It's called PROFILING - and it saves lives .

No... it doesn’t. If I were intent on committing a crime knew I would be profiled for said crime the I would find someone who didn’t match my profile to commit said crimes on my behalf. Meanwhile the authorities attention will be focused on ppl who look like me. This is not rocket science

My mother in law is Irish. When she came to/from Ireland to the UK in the 80’s and even early 90’s she was treated VERY differently at the airport. She knew why, she accepted it and moved on.

50/60% of the time I go through airport security I get “stopped & checked”.. I’ve no problem whatsoever as I’m not doing/carrying anything illegal.. You want to stop & check me 100% of the time, I’m fine with that.. If you’ve got a problem, either buy a private jet of property stay at home🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️
