People forget how he was hounded by the press, and everyone had an opinion about his swing changes etc. Totally get why he said the things he said, and glad he had the balls to do it :)

He should have mentioned John Cook and Jose Maria's names. If Cook hadn't blown his drive over the wall on #9, he would have won by 2 shots.

Mate, Cook missed a 3 foot birdie on 17 for a two shot lead and then bogeyed 18....Faldo birdied 17, make par on 18 and won by 1 stroke.

If if if. If I didn't blow my drive on nearly every hole and miss every putt I'd win the Open.

The longest lasting (Wife #2 - Gill - pictured in this video, but unthanked) said: "Socially, he was a 24-handicapper."

Certainly always, did everything his own way. More entertaining than the boring clichéd sound bites we hear nowadays. Faldo was a golfer one either loved or loved to hate. Either way, one of the greatest.
