nick, without shadow of a doubt, in a way, phil is almost a 'good' villain, because he takes care of the bad guys (namely nick, dan sullivan, johnny allen etc.), but at the same time, when phil is on booze or crack, he is even tougher and more evil than grant ever was.

I agree about the character Nick being far superior. He's a great black comedy villain especially the conversations he has with Dot. Though, I did prefer it when he came and went all the time as it gave the audience a chance to miss him and look forward to him coming back again. Sadly, he's gone for good now. :(
