Nicholas is fantastic in this film, it makes Prince Henry seem like a real person.

Nicholas is so mesmerizing, a gorgeous human inside and out. He always come off really humble, fun and grounded, and he keeps amazing me. I love listening his thought process, always so introspective, eloquent and kind, and he is very passionate and mindful about his craft and is such a fantastic actor. I can't wait for his new projects.

Loved this whole interview, thank you. Nicholas always takes such great care in all his roles and this was such an important film for many people as you said, which he is so aware of and respectful of. Perfect question around acting with Stephen Fry, who is indeed a national treasure. Genius casting by Mathew Lopez of a fictional heterosexual homophobic King to go for Stephen Fry, who is an openly gay British actor, and a gay rights advocate. So sweet how Nicholas described him as his Granddad in the movie.

I have watched a lot of interviews about this film. I enjoyed it. It is brilliant! But the irony of Stephen Fry, an openly gay actor, playing the King who won't let his grandson be gay never gets mentioned.

Yes, it's clear, director Matthew Lopez has said many times that it was difficult for him to find the actor to play the character "Alex", precisely because Nicholas Galitzine did not have "that necessary chemistry" with all the actors who applied. And I think that's what amuses N.Galitzine too when he says that he had a hard time finding Taylor, to the dismay of the director who saw his film delayed so much...🤣🤣😂😂

I would like to add a thought or two to yours. There are MANY reasons why an actor might not have fit the part of Alex. I suspect that Nick could have chemistry with a fence post! He is a gifted actor indeed.

@@brendadotter4433 Yes, indeed, a good actor can have a good chemistry with a "fence post" too (I really enjoyed the idea!🤣🤣😂😂). And N. Galitzine proved, indeed, to us that he is a good actor! But my comment above is just a quote from what director Matthew Lopez said in an interview. It wasn't a very difficult problem to find an actor for the role of Alex, because he had enough talented candidates. The problem was that they didn't really resonate with Galitzine (or rather Galitzine with them!)....And this to everyone's despair that the movie was unacceptably delayed for a long time, with all the corresponding consequences! The interview exists on KZread and can be easily found....

I'm not a big-big fan of this movie, but I really appreciate the direction and the acting of the actors, especially N.Galitzine and T.Z.Perez. But still...I don't understand why the film fans would be toxic, I would never have thought to say such a thing! In fact, everyone has their own taste and the actors play for the audience, this is what they are paid for!
