Not only backhand but also on net play.. its very hard to catch him on net.. yes he is not as fast as lin or lee but he got much smoother glide on court..

These days dudes are not playing like them. They are the golden generation of badminton. Miss you so much 😢

not only golden generation of badminton but people back then were just... better people getting weaker mentally and physically due to many things(the 'elites' are responsible)

@@Koozwadtechnology reducing attention spans. Reducing creativity. But also in the 80 and 90s when they grew up they grew up poor, so all of their focus on badminton. Now days professional players have to deal with many distractions.

Forgot how dangerous Taufik's drives were off the opponent's smashes. That shit is not easy to do, unless you're playing with plastics!

Lin Dan looked dominant throughout with great smashes , did lot of mistakes. Toufiq defended well.

Taufik is brutal

you see taufik still using alot of forehand shot on his backhand side and does alot of damage back in the day. Then used alot of backhand shots as the years went by. Could've used that round a head shot on the backhand side more often to win more rallies and games. Too bad, used too many backhands in his later years. He's also way more energetic here. Moving around, jumping around. He was unstoppable.

In this prime years Taufik Hidayat was a most complete player I have ever seen. He had speed, quality of movement, vision and shot making at a level that was, for the time, unrivaled.

LD respect TH more than LCW. Because TH is more skillful than LCW & TH win LD in important matchs but LCW not!. But, LCW have a great/long career than TH :)

no he wasn't. At that time yes but both Lin Dan and LCW were better later in their career. It's only natural, every sport evolves.

At this point he wasn't consistently better and the injuries were starting to add up but he could still pull out a win. When he left the Indonesian team he lost a lot of his consistency.
