Le Cours Saleya accueille le Marché aux Fleurs, du mardi au dimanche. Il s’agit en fait d’une combinaison du marché aux fleurs et du marché aux fruits et légumes. Les stands de fruits et légumes se remplissent vers 13h30 mais les stands de fleurs restent ouverts jusqu'à 17h30 environ. En 1897, Nice ouvre le premier marché de gros de fleurs coupées au monde. Les producteurs des collines déposaient leurs fleurs coupées chaque matin. Une fois que les grossistes auraient effectué leurs achats en gros, le marché serait ouvert aux particuliers. Grâce au chemin de fer, des wagons entiers de fleurs coupées ont été expédiés chaque jour de Nice vers des villes de France et d'Europe pendant près de 100 ans.

Cours Saleya hosts Flower Market, held Tuesday through Sunday. It’s actually a combination of the flower market and the fruit and vegetable market. The fruit and vegetable stands pack up by 1.30 PM but the flower stalls stay open until about 5.30. In 1897 Nice opened the first wholesale cut flower market in the world. The growers in the hills would bring down their cut flowers every morning. After the wholesalers had made their bulk purchases, the market would be opened for individuals. Thanks to the railroads, carloads of cut flowers were shipped from Nice to cities across France and Europe every day for almost 100 years.
