Nice 1974 D600 Grain truck Walkaround and test Drive. First Gen Cummins D350 Heavy haul 28000lbs

In this video I go over my 600mi road trip to haul home a new piece of equipment for the farm. A 1974 Dodge D600. The heaviest spec version you could get in 1974 double frame, extra big radiator 361 gas and a 5spd /2spd

I'm willing to bet the only plastic on it is the lenses on the lights and the distributor cap.

Yes I often complain about the stupid jacked up height of new trucks. I can comfortably lift things to tailgate height no problem on my truck because it is well below my waist. Many new trucks the bed floor sits as high as my waist and that makes lifting heavy items in much more difficult. I can also step on the running boards and reach over into the bed nice as well.

That B engine ought to be just fine till you swap it out,
That is an Ag/industrial B engine. It has totally different heads than a passenger car. And, accompanying water-pump housing and exhaust manifolds. All in the name of cooling during heavy service use. Great engine. You will get borderline diesel longevity with frequent oil-changes. But, the diesel will kill it on efficiency. And no carburetor/choke to mess with all the time! I know you plan to swap gears, but if you think those 6.14s are bad now? Drop a 6b in front of them! LOL.
