@@Yellowfver783 The easiest way to deke the goalie is to hold the puck on the right (if the player is a rightie) and then when you're close enough to the goalie, turn a bit to the left and move the puck to the left and then normally you have a wide open net to backhand into it.

Playing goalie my whole life I hated these. When you get to higher levels dudes can hit 90+. And they shoot from 10ft out. Doesn't matter how good your gear is these sting.

Having played hockey for 40 years, this still has to be the best shootout strategy, as long as it's not over used. Tenders never expect it. They look for the fake.

As a goalie, I'm not sure what you're supposed to do on these. I mean, in a regular play, a slap shot isn't likely going to come at you from that close, and will have other people in the way. Taking a slapshot from that close is borderline attempt to injure.

Needs way more than just one Brian Rolston clip, dude did it A LOT.

I know goalies would hate it but I would love if this happened more tbh. Would certainly make the shootout less of a drag! (Am I saying this just bc I want to see my Habs put Weber out there for a shootout clapper and see if the goalie flinches? Maaaaybe)

Hossa was so good man

the reason why slap shot works on a shootout (I played goalie) is if you can shoot faster than a goalie can react you can beat them, otherwise with a deke you need to get them moving one way(momentum) so they cant go back the other way
