Really liking the addition of Blueger. He adds so much defensively to a team that desperately needed it. His sticks are always in the right place it seems. You can tell he really prides himself on elite defensive technique.

BB6 & Myers are play much better than I expected, moving faster and able to make a correct play under pressure 😅 good job

If there was a pre-season they needed to win, this is it. The Canucks iced their best lineup, so there was no excuses against a weaker Oiler team without some of their big guns. If they had lost, the confidence would have taken a big hit, and this team needs some confidence.

@@breacherup1803 preseason, AHL players in front of him, uncoordinated team playing in lines they aren't used to. VS Canucks with most their stars playing..... Its literally an exhibition game, and two AHL players scored on Demko. Don't be a moronic fan.

When a team appears to spend the entire game on the PP, it really makes you wish they would show the plays that led to those penalties... like i know it's not the part of the game the league wants to show, but it's really important... some penalties are effectively drawn or even forced, some are soft, they all matter tho

They got some good timings when they scored on the two man-advantage they scored with like 1 second left on it so they were still on PP. Don’t be fooled though, lot’s of PK.

Before the game i was thinking about petterssons shot and how it ranks up in the league. Hes probably the best sniper in the league when it comes to the dead puck/stand still position. If these defenses give him that much time to just get set and pick a corner hes never missing those

OK, so at least Canucks do restore a bit of optimism on my part, I'll give them that. My big concern, is how good or capable are the younger players, coming out of Abbotsford, if any of the seniors get injured or dip in form? All 3x previous games ended in defeats, and if Canucks are going to challenge for the playoffs, they've got to get an improvement in the likes of their 4th line and their prospects. An 82 game season is a very long one, and there won't be much rest for them as they fly back and forth between every major city across North America.

They need more Prospects as we currently hold the weakest in the NHL right now. This is nearly there full squad playing at pre season level hockey against an Edmonton squad that has no Mcdavid. i can't Judge them based off a pre season game the first few games in the regular season allows me to get an idea of where they stand.

I turned it off half way through the game as the Canucks were being badly outshot and losing to Nugent-Hopkins and 20 AHL players. Someone told me they came back to win and the crowd acted like it was a Stanley Cup victory. Reality will set in for Vancouver fans on October 11th when the Oilers return to town.

this is gonna be my last comment on anything nhl so canucks fans can rejoice, if you want the canucks to win, stop watching them, same goes for any other teams really. idk if anyone else has noticed this but so far every home team has won. I get its preseason and a good chance to give rookies ice time but the canucks have been pounded for the first three games, now they're mostly nhl level players dressed while mcdavid and draisaitl get the night off. the canucks did not earn this win one bit. and I for one can not watch or care for a scripted sport.

clearly you don’t understand the nature of preseason games. coaches tend to dress the top line rosters for the home games for a few reasons, one being to give the home team fans a good show and to see their fav players. second, they tend to send the young ahl guys on the road to let the top players rest and avoid travel fatigue for pointless games, as well as to let the developing players have a shot to prove themselves. literally every team does this. that’s why everyone says preseason is meaningless, because it’s almost never an even playing field. hope this helps you understand.
