1. The CH is actually derived from CHC for Le Club de Hockey Canadien. 2. The Toronto Maple Leafs minor league baseball team in the International League had the name years before the hockey team did.

The Montréal logo has 2 C's - CHC

The triangle on the penguins logo represents the golden triangle in Pittsburgh. Where the 3 rivers meet.

The re spelling is used in the UK, Ireland and Canada to this day along with the u in colour and similar words. I dont know if Australia or NZ follow those rules though
