Panthers keep putting on a clinic. Right now they have Barkov, Reinhart, Tkachuk, and Verhagae in the top 30 of scoring while all having ppg seasons. This game Lundell went off and forecheck was heavy. I'm really liking Maurice's changes on the fly from a 2-1-2 to a 1-2-2 depending on who's out there. And of course Bobby Shmurda always coming through clutch with the pillows and leather. To have only one goal from our top 6 and the rest from the 3rd, 4th, and Ekblad on D is a fine tuned machine. Even when Barkov, Reinhart, and Rodrigues arent on the board they're still pivotal to the team's success. These Panthers are dangerous man.

I was happy for Eichel and Marshessault when they won the cup but they played a broken Panther team that was playing playoff hockey way before the post season. They clinched game 81 as the 8th seed and beat the Bruins who had just decimated the record for best season in NHL history. The differential in the standings between Boston and the Panthers was around 40 points, the Bruins went up 3-1, the Panthers would have to win the next 3 including game 5 and game 7 in Boston, they became the only team in NHL history to be down 3-1 to the NHL's best recorded team and force a game 7. They were down 3-2 with about 2 minutes left when Maurice made the decision to pull Bob, they tied it, forced OT, and then won it in Boston. Then they made history with Toronto while making quick work of them. Then they made history with Carolina with one of the longest playoff games in NHL history. They were the only team in the whole playoffs to sweep a team. 8-1 and undefeated in OTs by the time they made it to VGK in the Finals. VGK had been to the Finals already and had been knocking on the door by making deep playoff runs every year since their inception. And then Tkachuk breaks his sternum, Ekblad plays with a bruised rib and dislocated shoulder, Montour, Reinhart, and Duclair were all injured as well.

"Bobby Shmurda always coming through clutch with the pillows and leather" is the funniest thing I've read all day. I was also really happy to see Lundell get a couple. He gets a lot of flack for a lack of production, but to my eye he always seems to play well on both sides of the puck. I don't think it's a coincidence he does well when he's on the ice with guys like Tkachuk and not as much with, say, Cousins.

I see the Pens coach getting fired. That new GM really did a GREAT job hasn't he? Crosby has to take a lot of the blame for this. He insisted they resign Malkin. That money could have gone to get some decent players.

​@trvman1 apparently Hextall and Burke wanted to move on from Letang and Malkin (and they should have) but ownership meddled and wanted to keep them so I guess Hextall and Burke gave in to ownership demand and resigned them and still got fired.

I totally agree. It's not even the goalie this year, they have one of the top GAA in the league, and are the best with six shutouts. The problem is they are slow in skating, and can't score. They average under 3 goals per game for the year.

Did Barkov even play in the game?

Why is Jarry still keep playing ? That guy is paid 5 millions a year for allowing pucks in the net. He definitely has a good agent.

That's going around alot, it may depend on whether or not Sid let's them. Crosby usually doesn't get to involved, but Guentzel is the one guy he always wants to play with so he may step in.

Pens looked like they just did not care. Sloppy at best. Bad decisions from everyone and no energy. Play like that against any cup contender and the result is that 2nd period alone.

Pen 1st goal that was reviewed and counted, should have been no goal! Why, because the Pens player had his skate in the blue crease but did not make an effort to remove his skate from the blue because Bobrovsky was attempting to stretch and slide right to kick out his right leg to make a save.
