That game could’ve gone either way, but man the Kings way scarier than last year! It was great to see the Oilers not roll over and die after that first period like they usually would, a good sign if we make playoffs again. GG Kings

Mcdavid was electric this game. He was in on basically every single good chance we had. Skinner played a fantastic game as well.
I started going to Ice Hockey games in 1976 and started playing ice hockey that year, and since the late 70s-80s I've never seen so much talent from so many teams...

@pyRoy6

@@peters5090The Oilers' performance excluding goaltending might be trending slightly up, but they were still top of the league in quantifiable offensive and defensive stats during Woodcroft's time. The biggest difference is that they were getting consistently bad (ie league worst) goaltending. The second factor was that their shooting % was unusually low, but that's mostly just luck + McDavid playing hurt. Recently, the goaltending has been decent, and the luck has evened out. The wins have come as a result.

@monicaarisman4293
5 ай бұрын
@@orwellknew9112 Unfortunately, Woodcroft was a problem. He did not learn from the mistakes he made in the playoffs against Vegas. Then he tried to implement the "Vegas/Bruins" system, which the team is not built to execute. And, finally he couldn't see that the new system wasn't working and change and simply it. Not to mention he never could keep a line together for more than 2 seconds and when the team got into to trouble he always went to the nuclear option. I do hope he learns from these mistakes and gets another chance. But the hockey world is fickle, he'd do better being an assistant behind a seasoned NHL coach.
Dmen's blood must run cold when McDavid starts charging towards them with the puck at full speed. Especially at the end of a long shift.

Hate when the Kings play down. At home. With zero effort after an amazing first period. Back-to-back losses to divisional rivals is terrible enough, but LA played a measly combined 40 minutes of good hockey between the two losses, and that is unacceptable. And McClellan… Grundstrom? Really? He’s your go to in the shootout for a possible game winner? Not Fiala? Fiala was feeling it tonight, and he seems to have the Oilers number, but you choose GRUNDSTROM? I’m just dumbfounded honestly. We will always take the point, but that excuse is getting old. Can’t keep losing in front of your fans with only a 20 minute effort. Have to win those games. Oilers wanted the win more. That was evident enough, so good game Oilers. This game actually made me want to see a third straight series between the two teams again. I think most of the hockey world would like that. 👑GKG👑
