Bedard had a beaut but McDavid controlled the game. Even if he didn’t score his presence was definitely felt and he made a series of amazing plays. My jaw still drops every time he gets the puck and sticks it into high gear.

@maha8854 this Florida game was rough but I think the Tampa game was very winnable just played skinner too many times in a row.

This is the defense I've dreamed about my whole 30 years watching the Oilers. Keep teams to under 25 shots and super high chance you are gonna win those games. Would be extra nice to get Connor Brown going, but I'm good with the current affairs of the Oilers.

Bedard's snipe was impressive, and the Oilers gave the Blackhawks quite a few grade A chances with some sloppy play in their own end. Nuge's rush goal was a beauty, Ganger's go ahead goal from Ryan was a great show of geriatric prowess, Draisaitl's ricochet goal would look flukey from anyone else, and Hyman - that guy just insists on scoring goals, and McDavid seems to enjoy that too.

Peter Mrazek is a really good goalie

Good win! Skinner was solid tonight!

When bedard gets 1 or 2 top setup guys he'll possibly break gretskys 93 goals in 1 season record, his shot and release is that good.

Fun to watch Bedard score the first in this game. Good hockey game BC I enjoy both McDavid and Bedard.

Good to see the Oilers making a strong comeback.

Here come the Oilers. Remember St. Louis in 2019? Last place in Jan ended up winning the Cup. I see a similar pattern.

Remember when they fired the coach won a game and the lost a game and people were trying to say "Well maybe it wasn't the coach".. yeah that aged super badly. Looks like for the Oilers it WAS the coach. That's the only thing they've changed and it looks like other teams who are struggling need to do the same thing.

there's way too many factors at play to say it was just the coach... did it play a part? sure... is knob a decent coach? Probably... Would the Oilers have got out of their rut with Woodcroft coaching? Almost certainly, but we'll never know now will we..?

Honestly I think the real difference is Manson vs Coffey. The oilers struggle to defend in playoffs and when teams total team defense elevates oiler struggle to outscore their mistakes come playoffs. They wanted to focus early on with defense and tried different strategies which the guys didn't get, or didn't have the skill set for. Coffey has helped the defense with transition and how to get the puck behind strong defense and when the middle is being clogged up, he's also got them defending better with working the angles, and sticks in lanes. IF they make the playoffs we'll see how it works. But early on forwards weren't getting the pucks and scoring and defense was trying zone and man on man and losing those battles. Don't agree with some of Knobs line combinations. Think he's thinking out the offense. Prefer Woody's approach of pairs. But Coffey over Manson was a brilliant move.

Lot of falls today but we got it done! Well done Edmonton! That goal by Draisaitl off the stick was awesome!

The best players of their generation always get hated on simply because they're the best. When McDavid is 32 and Bedard takes the crown you're really going to hate him eh? He's not as good as McDavid was his rookie year (which was only 45 games because of the broken collar bone) but he'll catch him eventually McDavid is 8 years older, it will happen. Don't be that guy especially if your an Oiler fan, we've seen it enough with Gretzky and McDavid.

Glad the Oilers win again but they were lucky to get out of that first period with the lead. Way too many horrendous giveaways in their own end. Some bad habits are just too strong to stop. That sloppy play will be their undoing.

On a positive for the D, the PK has been immaculate. They practically never let one SOG in one of the PPs.

I'm I the ony one who laughs when I hear Hymen's name.

This game showed the difference between a team with players and another team with 1 player. Bedard can't do anything without some help , the Blackhawks PP is the worst I've ever seen in Chicago, how they even scored on a PP amazes me. Bad defense and zero offense for the last decade is the norm in Chicago.

The PP has been weird this year. In fact the entire offense has. They have done a really good job creating chances, but for what ever reason they end up just missing the net completely or hitting the goalie right in the chest.

I think it's better to say Oilers 1 Blackhawks 0. I think Bedard had the better of play between the two as the hawks contained McDavid very well, but in the end Bedard won the battle, but (with the help of some luck and bad calls/no calls) Oilers won the war.
