Yes. It is quite odd that the whistle takes so long to be blown around samsonov. Ref jumps on the net because he can't see the puck instead of blowing the whistle.

Yeah they took forever, and if you remember the Flyers dis-allowed goal a week ago when the referee instantly blew the whistle while the puck was in the air. The only consistency with NHL referees is that they are never consistent.

Huge game for the Leafs. They played with a lot of heart. Matthews comes through big time, and you saw him out there in the final minute with Boston using the extra man. I’m a Habs fan but it’s pathetic that some Habs fans continually say he is overrated, one trick pony, selfish etc…….. any honest Hab fan would love him on our team,….would be a great captain. Leafs still need 3 more wins, lots of hockey left.

There is a rule, don't take me word for word but if the refs decide a penalty has occurred due to the fact there's no time left for it to be enforced the other team gets a penalty shot

Marchand diving twice in this game just to draw a penalty while also taking cheap shots was ridiculous but plays, like the one you mentioned, is definitely a great goal and great play. Boston has two great goalies. Ullmark made 2 next level saves in this game. The saves on jarnkrok and robertson

Sammy stuffing Marchand early in the third was huge.

7 games is mandatory for these two teams. This is not very shocking. Tight playoff game. Onto G3.

Love these highlights but it sure would be nice if they didn't spoil the end score in the description.. (higher resolution would be nice too)

Far from being a Leafs fan, but any 🇨🇦 team win is a good win in my books. 👍🏽 Good goaltending on both ends tonight.

Refs jumping on the net to make sure they can find the puck, letting boston get an extra 5 seconds to brutally chop away and give them opportunity like that is straight up cheating. Why does he jump on the net? Because he cant see the puck. Instead of blowing the whistle like he is supposed too, he desperately trys to give boston 5 extra seconds to whack away. That is so wrong. It is cheating on the nhls part. You can now say, well the ref wasnt on the net for the call.

That Maximum Domi feed to Matthews then the goal was one of the sickest plays I have ever seen. Hands so filthy they got blood on them.

Marchand looked like a soccer player a couple times... surprised he didn't roll around more. Best overall team effort from the leafs since April 1. They keep playing like that, stay out of the box from retaliation/bad penalties and they have a chance.

That penalty on Bert when Marchand dove like he was in the olympics was the softest call I’ve ever seen. But there were a lotta bad calls against Boston too

That was a dumb penalty by Bertuzzi though. Leafs need to play between the whistles. Getting sucked into the after whistle shenanigans is exactly what Boston wants.

I agree. He’s always been a great asset to the team in my opinion. He make’s unbelievable passes all year long, sticks up for his teammates, and works hard during the playoffs. I hate when people hate on the guy, he’s a solid top 9 player that can play top 6 minutes.

Everybody will say Matthews was the difference, but it was...Domi who had the biggest impact on the game.

Now THAT is how to win! Keep that team effort going and you can get past the dragon.

The call on Bert when he “tripped” Marchand was the worst call I’ve seen in a while. Biggest dive of all time, but other than that the refs were defo on the leafs side tonight.

What an absolute statement game from the Leafs. This Domi, Bertuzzi and Matthews line is a revelation. If Marner is able to do what fans have been screaming for in the playoffs, and Nylander plays to his full potential, the Bruins have a lot to be worried about. It's a long series, but if Marner and Nylander get activated, I think it's going to be a massive problem for Boston.

The moment you let Auston Mathews get a breakaway is the moment the game is over 😂
