You should swap your bottom 6 forwards to defense, and put your defense core to the top two offensive lines.

I played NHL 2004 competitively, and I actually had the camera fixed down. When attacking down, I found deking to be easier. It's easier to see your stick and the goalie's positioning to the net. With training, I was able to score instinctly by reacting to visual cues. I could score on command no matter what angle I attacked the net from. I also knew a player who used the sideways TV camera. He was sick at one-timers.

a poison could be you could only shoot while holding down rb during the shot. Good luck getting shots on net :)
