Guess this is gonna be like that with all the title drops nowadays?

The thing that Most Wanted 05 did better is, the characters aren’t friendly, and they don’t like you, so why should we care about them? Our main character doesn’t care whose life is on the line, when we run from the police, we blow up gas stations, knock down structures, even use our car to physically engage. In unbound, they complain about the cops and politics, everyone is too damn friendly for a competitive street racing scene, that involves cops constantly chasing you, while the most wanted character is out here with 11 FBI agents in corvettes wanting to pin you to a wall to arrest you and give you anxiety.

It's quite honestly the worst story I have ever experienced in a video game.

I just finished this game and during last race with Yaz i was swearing all the time out loud for how the story is stupid and why would anyone forgive that obnoxious character anything.

I just picked up NFS:Unbound for $15. Long story short, the story is freaking HORRIBLE. And this is magnified since I just finished EA's Grid Legends (which is a racing game with a GREAT story. I went from Grid Legends, which had an AWESOME story (the base game combined with the "Rise of Ravenwest" DLC was awesome storytelling) and from that I went to Need for Speed: Unbound which has one of the worst stories I have ever seen. It also didn't help that EA's Grid Legends is a MUCH better racing game (gameplay is more fun) than EA's Need For Speed: Unbound.

honestly the story started off quite promising at the beginning but then it just went downhill extremely fast - definitely one of the worst stories I've played.The point of the story (or the goal of the player) was to get revenge on Yaz and get our car back after Rydells garage got robbed but The player forgives Yaz before The Grand happens meaning that she would give our car back anyway - it just kinda ruins the anticipation and tension of winning The Grand since there's no real point in beating it now because the point of the story has been achieved, the players goals have been achieved. Just doesn't make any sense really

Yes. The Grand didn't matter cuz we had accomplished everything beforehand. The build up to the end game is very similar to Payback, but without the high-stakes.

Every time I see a AAA game with such a pitifully bad story, I realize that the budget for this story when it comes to writing, animations, etc... is probably in itself the budget of one - if not several - cool indie games.

The story seems pretty blend overall, but the sidequest with Most Wanted reference warmed my heart.

Damn, this story started off strong with first time players picking a car they think they’ll have only to lose it at the start, and it becomes a revenge quest to get your car and smoke the person who stole. It’s basically MW2005 with a fresh coat of paint but I didn’t mind, but Yaz gets forgiven?? Tess becomes a sort of villain? Do we even actually see Alec in person? What a disappointment, I didn’t even finish the story I heard it was bad so I just went to this vid…. But this is pathetic. It didn’t have to be like this either. Honestly, they should’ve just continued Heat’s story, I liked the characters there more than the ones here. Though, Tess even though she is annoying, kinda grew on me.

From 7:40 to 7:50, the easter egg wasn't meant for Razor. It's not him which Yaz talks about in the 1st place. In reality, Yaz is referencing the main Protagonist of NFS MW 2005 and NFS Carbon. Razor stole his car by sabotage and cheating. Then, he was busted by Cross and sends temporarly in jail but he was released due to a lack of evidences. After that, Mia picks you up at the Rockport PD and tells you about Razor which used your car to be Blacklist N°1. Then, you go to your future garage, you choose a new starter car of your choice and decided to face all Blacklist members in order to beat Razor and get back your BMW M3 E46 GTR. After you beat Razor, he refuses to give back your car keys. Thereafter, Mia reveals herself as a cop, she takedowns Razor and her colleagues arrives to arrest everyone. At the same time, Mia gives back your car keys in order to flee Rockport. Then, Cross arrives and asks Mia "Where is the guy ? '" and she says "he got away". Croos was so angry and decides to call "Everyone" to go after him. But you managed to escape after you jump the old bridge. After that, you go back to Palmont City with your BMW M3 E46 GTR and you're chased by Cross which is now a bounty hunter. Cross managed to stop you since you had an accident with a semi truck full of metal pipes which falls out on your M3 E46 GTR's roof, then Cross get out his car to arrest him but Darius arrives. Since Cross can't do nothing against Darius, he goes away after doing a reverse on purpose to destroy your car even more. Since you had no car anymore, you have to start from scratch again with a new starter car of your choice. As the story of NFS Carbon unfolds, we discover that everything that happened that night is the fault of Darius and his accomplices. The 3 new crew members explains what happened this day when you fleed and Nikki understood that the 3 versions of their testimony agrees with each other. Then, Nikki joins your crew as an aspiro After that, you take revenge on Darius by yourself and with your crew by taking all his territory and you race against Darius after defeating Angie, Kenji and Wolf one last time. After the 2 races against Darius, you win his Audi Le Mans Quattro as a replacement for your totaled BMW M3 E46 GTR and Darius quits Palmont City to be never seen ever again.

Re-read correctly what i said or re-listen between the lines what Yaz says after you completed the M3 E46 GTR delivery mission; what i said makes sense. Keep in mind that Razor isn't the true owner of the BMW M3 E46 GTR since he stole it by cheating and sabotage with the help of his henchmen in the 1st place. In reality, the MC of NFS MW 2005/NFS Carbon which is also yourself is the true owner of the car. Yaz literally talks about the prologue of NFS MW 2005, not the ending. Also, how Razor can request the BMW M3 E46 GTR since Mia busted him in the NFS MW 2005 ending ? In fact and since that event, he's still in jail and no one knows what happened to him afterwards. Anyway, only the scenario writers of NFS MW/NFS Carbon knows the answer about Razor's fate. Moreover, all the BMW M3 E46 GTR which appears after NFS Carbon are added intentionally by the devs for the nostalgia factor and references. Since the car was totaled by Cross in NFS Carbon, that means they're all replicas.

@@MobDKGr I've just read your comment. I think the delivery mission was meant for both of us and Razor. The part where the MC says "I got a weird sense I'd done this in a past life or something" was a reference about the OG games, while the rest was connecting the M3 into Unbound's world. I can be wrong, but these games are loosely connected anyway. Probably all the references after MW/Carbon are for the sake of nostalgia and are not canon.

But it's mainly about the Player, Razor is 2nd. The part where the Unbound's MC says "I got a weird sense I'd done this in a past life or something" is both a reference to the player behind the screen which means us. It's also a reference to NFS MW 2005 and NFS Carbon since you're also the main protagonist in all NFS games with unnamed main protagonists. The only NFS games which are connected are the ones with sequels e.g the NFS HP games, the Underground games, NFS MW 2005/NFS Carbon and the NFS Shift spinoffs. All the other NFS games are 1 shot with no relations. Of course, all the references of NFS MW/NFS Carbon are meant for the nostalgia factor and aren't canon. In fact. Cameos, easter eggs and references are added intentionally by the devs in order to prove that they're part of the same Need For Speed Universe while having their own separate continuities.

@@Lesturn No matter how fast you was going in NFS Unbound even on relax difficulty the police corvette interceptor would always be annoyingly near you and even pass you when your at top speed with your top tier cars.

completed the grand and didnt even get the mission where u drive the bmw and still have 2 custom cars that say ill unlock them further into the story

I'll be honest, to me it's one of the best stories in all NFS, up till the point we're we forgive yaz that is, that made all of the previous story pointless. Besides I hated yaz character since the beginning so I was loving the story and then all of a sudden she's forgiven lol, all because she realized Alec was scum? A person like yaz that knew full well who stole the cars can't be forgiven. It should have been like FF 1were the dude ran away with the car he just lost and then we would go after her and crash it like in NFS heat with the BMW. She would go to prison with Alec and I would be a happy NFS player.

So they basically took Need for Speed and made it gay

I should’ve expected a weak story, it’s made from Criterion. Even though there are Ghost game members, Most Wanted 2 didn’t have a story😭

I used to be a huge fan of NFS games for their stories, and I said I USED TO BE. NFS Payback was the last game according to me which had a good story. I've completed the Heat also. But that game just lags and lags. Plus, the story also wasn't good. I watched this video to decide whether I should play this game or not. And I have to say, this game is the last nail on the coffin for the NFS Game story. Now, there's no fun or motivation to drive cars in a game anymore.

If they give us one thing we can’t have the other games have made that pretty clear nowadays especially EA racing games. We got some of the best cars in the game great designs good speeds when traveling but we get the worse storyline to date. They could’ve made it where we get pink slips from other racers and make your way up to the top of the racing scene. Your racing in this game to win back that shitty car and win back a no good while also dealing with another no good that only focus on money. This game had so much potential

the story was meh but not awful, but its so stupid to end it there… like who’s alec? why doesn’t alec come after us or tess? what’s with this stupid ending… and asap rock really didn’t do a thing for the storyline. like he dropped a motivational quote telling us he’s rich but he’s like us lol i so relate with asap rocky now… 😂😂😂 again, not the worst story i’ve played but defined not one i would tell my friends 🤔

Comic book graphics with real looking cars at the same time is the dumbest idea ever. Either pick one or the other

This wasnt even a story. It felt like a minor side character in the racing scene shirt story lol. It literally has no ending or climax. Impact of story felt like minor drama over a week or two between 3 people and everything went back to normal like things never happened. They only worked on gameplay and everything else was thrown together last minute it seems. One of the few things I ate about this game is it's story, lack of creative races, and the annoying ass cops that's forcing you to participate without anything to get rid of them easily so they become annoying as hell all of the time.

Plus the songs they put in game are so cringe. Remember when in most wanted we got badass songs from awesome artists like disturbed, bmfv, avenged sevenfold, cell dweller, and mastodon

I just feel like it is a MOST WANTED wannabe with that story they steel your car you bust yo ass to get it back lol

No its not and people will call it underrated when the new one comes like they always do. Its not fucking perfect but ive seen people call that pathetic game 2015 better because..."aesthetic " with its garbage ass physics
