@@mesc681 I understand that, but just like every team practices QB scramble drills, likewise they could also practice hook & ladder plays. Im not suggesting them be used every play. But its rare to see them executed except for the last play/hail mary option. Kelce went off script a few times and was successful each time. Imagine if teams practiced it more and or receivers just had an understanding of the play based on their route, the defenses positions. they could be alert to the possibility of it happening.

I love to see creative trick plays. As a Brit who has played rugby and American football I’d love to see more laterals downfield after an initial forward pass. If you practice it enough the players would be confident throwing the lateral pass and it would keep the defenders honest.
@Lachie55
4 ай бұрын
The backward pass/lateral rule isn't the same as in rugby. The pass must be backward relative to the field. Whereas in rugby it must be backward relative to the player throwing it. This makes laterals much more difficult in the nfl as passes can easily drift forward with the players' momentum, this would be illegal in the NFL.
@garethdesborough7960
4 ай бұрын
@@Lachie55 yes I appreciate that but it ought still to be coachable. I’m not suggesting that players attack using passes in exactly the same way as rugby players, just that coaching downfield players who do not have possession to be always ready to accept a backward pass might be a useful strategy.

From the NFL rule book: “Any quick abrupt movement by a single offensive player, or by several offensive players in unison, which simulates the start of the snap, is a false start.” So yes, if the whole offensive line starts moving laterally in the same direction, that would simulate the start of the snap and would be a false start.

@@mikeziniti it doesn't apply to the shift. Look through rulebook carefully and you will see that lineman is allowed to shift too until he sets in 3 or 4 point (his hand is on the ground). In this case it would be false start. If lineman is in 2-point stance he can shift. I am offensive coordinator and shift my OL on Swinging Gate formations. It was bad call from ref. In NFL they just don't see that stuff often like in college creative football that's why Hussie was confused and threw flag. Provided linemen set on new positions and remain still for at least 1 full second before the snap. The fact that one of shifting player started moving on new position (extending hand to point on opponent) triggered foul likely

Theyve run that exact play successfully before its just tyler boyd left his brain at home
I love when the punters get in on the action.
*damn th most important fake didn't even count* 💀😭
Some of these plays are just going to be standard offense (especially the _HB direct snap to the edge featuring a fake reverse to the QB_ ). Also, the Cardinals' kicker couldn't make a field goal in that Seahawks game. So, splitting him out wide was the best contribution he made to that team all game (7:00).
Bro added the Sneak From Victory.. You a menace dawg💀💀😂😂
Lions compilation 😂😅
The Mitch Wichnowski fake punt not being in here is crazy. 🤦♂️
It's crazy how many of these happened against Dallas

As a Dallas fan I'm not surprised. They fall for the fake punt like a toddler falls for I have your nose. It's ridiculous
The best part of these plays aren't even that they work, but the reaction shots of how happy the sideline is that something fun worked.
The Vikings booing made the coach smirk "yes that's what i want everyone to think"
Thanks for this...got any more?
Imagine how much more scary offenses could be if they included more hook and ladders/laterals into their plays (after the catch). You see how effective it can be with what Kelce does.

Alternative title: lions highlights
Nothing like a good trick play!
For the first one, when the hell has anyone seen a Black long snapper... that should've been a DEAD giveaway
The Patriots blocked field goal against the Dolphins was the best one all year. It was a unique play.
That bills fake punt vs the chiefs was a fireable offense for McDermott
I love to see creative trick plays. As a Brit who has played rugby and American football I’d love to see more laterals downfield after an initial forward pass. If you practice it enough the players would be confident throwing the lateral pass and it would keep the defenders honest.

@garethdesborough7960

@@Lachie55 yes I appreciate that but it ought still to be coachable. I’m not suggesting that players attack using passes in exactly the same way as rugby players, just that coaching downfield players who do not have possession to be always ready to accept a backward pass might be a useful strategy.
D. Henry should not be allowed to be that fast for his size 😂😂
The stages of disappointment: 1) My team's offense isn't highlighted for any/enough of these. 2) My team's defense fell for these too many times. 3) My team's offense just turned the ball over.
There's a good reason I've started calling the Lions' offensive coordinator Inspector Gadget... and this video shows that reason!
I swear I was watching lion highlights at first😂
@9:08...OMG! Great video!
im not that much of a fan but, THE LOINS ARE CRAZY
Two thoughts: first, the first double pass by the Chiefs looked illegal because both passes went forward; second, the last play was the NO players giving a teammate his first touchdown of the season.

Yea that throwback def went forward by accident
Just appreciate how the Eagles punter passes that ball with no step up or forwards momentum and still throws a dime 4:38
Don't see enough of the lateral passing in that game.
Love the screwed-up trick plays.
i hoped that browns T play was in here, that was classic
I like how they got Detroit trick plays all in one segment.
Those Kelce laterals aren’t really tricks or fakes. It’s more just him seeing an opportunity and taking it.
Thought this was the Detroit Lions season highlights for a minute!
Fun stuff, makes the game what it is, Go Cowboys!
12:35 probably the 5th time I've watched that play and it gets worse everytime 😂
0:17 you can hear the crowd go wild when they realize what is happening and see the man wide open downfield. Hell yea.
If you look at the Bears play with Moore in the shotgun they could've also thrown that back to Fields because he was all alone on that side of the field.

Seems like the teams with the better records had more unique special plays.
The amount of plays the NFL steals from the 49ers is insane.
The lions have courage 🤣🤣🤣
13:22 i dont see the problem, is a punting team not allowed to shift formations?
@mikeziniti
4 ай бұрын

3:39 this was the most funnest moment of the year for me
Falcons should have expected that last play. Scouting reports showed that Jamesis has a history of forcing it in after being told not to.
I love how the lions have most of the trick plays on this video
so true
It's super sneaky, but you missed one Car @ Det, where #77 snaps the ball between #16's legs directly to #5 for a stealthy wildcat type play
J Swagg Daddy deserved that touchdown.
I clicked to see if the last play the Saints ran this season would be there 😂
Feels like lions highlights man
Since when did a flea flicker become a trick play? When Derrick Henry gets into the secondary, he's so huge he looks like a man among boys.
