Dominique Patterson problem is that they are wasting a year of good learning opportunity for Herbert by keeping this guy. The chargers are not winning a chip this year. So it just seems pointless to have him starting imo.
That one handed catch was kinda nasty tho.

Tyrods the man ⚡️⚡️⚡️
Tyrod looks so calm, cool and composed out there. You just get the feeling that everything's under control with him. Not too high, not too low. Wanna see a difference in maturity level? Go to 1:27 and look at the difference in how Tyrod and Justin move and notice Tyrod's tone of voice even when giving instruction. Don't think coaches and players don't notice the difference too. I believe that a calm temperment is an underrated quality found in most successful quarterbacks. Phil was great but his animated demeanor always made me even more nervous.
@LEFTaTIP
4 жыл бұрын
This is practice. How many practice plays was Tyrod under pressure? How many times did Tyrod look at a pass rush with a disguised rusher?? Again, this is practice. As far as being calm....ok in a practice session but in games everything is amped up. But in real games....A QBs voice level better project being heard clearly, able to understand when to audible out. Unfortunately, what I saw was Tyrod still forgetting his basic QB fundamentals, like: holds the ball to low, poor footwork, which led to his troubles throwing over the middle and being inconsistent with his passes. We will see....I hope for the best for Tyrod and the Chargers offense but I'm a realist.

@LEFTaTIP
3 жыл бұрын
@@chucke2319, QBs come with varying temperaments. Many great QBs had Rivers type of personality when they run their offenses. The BOTTOM line is can you deliver a great throw when its needed to keep your offensive series going ?? Tyrod had all kinds of problems making throws in tight windows, leading receivers open, making completions on 3rd downs. But Rivers did not have theses problems, he made great throws. Don't forget Telesco never gave Rivers a top 5 OL, not a top 10 not even a top 15 OL is Telesco's 8 yrs as a GM. Telesco last 3 yrs of Charger OL's 2019--30th, 2018--25th, 2017--29th, per PFF rankings. Tyrod with all his so called leadership; is nothing more than a lifetime 23-21-1. Only 4 4th qtr. comebacks, (Rivers has 27 4th qtr comebacks) and NO playoff wins. Give me Philip Rivers any game over Tyrod Taylor.
Everyone hit the like button man support the team

It's true, I can attest as a huge Bills fan that was always a fan of Tyrod (though i understood why we moved on). He was the 3rd string when he came in to camp and moved in to the starter in his first off-season. His TD/INT ratio was always excellent and our Turnover differential as a team was always great when he started. His win/loss record was better then any Buffalo starter in over a decade too. He's not the type QB to give you 300 yards a game, and sometimes holds the ball too long.... but he has an underrated deep ball, is a great scrambler/runner and is a great teammate. He was great with the fans, embraced Buffalo, and was big on FAITH/LEADERSHIP. Type of guy that never causes off-field/locker room problems, BTW his best year was with Anthony Lynn as his Offensive Coordinator ( i was pissed when he lost Lynn but happy for him). I will always root for Tyrod wherever he goes. Buffalo did him no favors, with over 3 different OC's in 3 years. Tyrod is a middling Starter that will always keep you in close games, and the perfect back-up for a Young QB like Herbert to learn from (though T-Mobile or Ty-God will never see it that way).

Phil didn’t always turn the ball over as much as he did the last few years. Terrible O-line played a huge role on top of the fact that Melvin Gordon couldn’t break an arm tackle. It’s hard to consistently win games without a consistent running game. I love the Chargers. It’s my team but I won’t stand for anyone talking about Phil like he was the problem. You should have watched the Chargers from 2006-2013. First year starting he led the Chargers to a 14-2 season and yes we had LT but Christian Ponder also had the best version of Adrian Peterson, how Many 14 win seasons did he accomplish? I’ll wait, in 2007, we beat the Titans (Wildcard Round), the Colts on the road (Divisional Round) played on a Torn ACL against the Undefeated Patriots a game in which Antonio Gates played on a turf toe, LT played 3 snaps then sat the rest of the game. Lost that game 12-21. Phil Led us down to the red zone 4 times but came away with 4 field goals. The Pats reached the red zone 4 times as well, once was picked off by Antonio Cromartie, the other 3 were touchdowns. Had Gates and LT been healthy, Rivers on 1 knee gets the W. 2009, Philip Rivers was the focal point of the offense, Led the Chargers to a 13-3 season, Didn’t re-sign Darren Sproles, let Michael Turner walk and sign with the Falcons only to release LT following the 2009 season. Didn’t re-sign VJax who by that point was Rivers go to guy. A lot of fault falls on the front office. Rivers is my favorite player of all time, but if you just recently became a fan, you could never comprehend how much Rivers means to a life long Chargers fan.

Yeah, he's basically the embodiment of "he won't lose you the game." Conversely he's not going to take risky shots to win the game. Good luck to TT. Thanks for busting the drought and sorry about getting peterman'd

@zan zy The whole 'he's black" argument is so played out. He became the starter in Buffalo for 3 years (after being a backup in Baltimore). Buffalo was the one team that actually gave him a shot......so we are racist for moving on after 3 years? Not to mention that off season he became the starter, he won the job over a white QB. I agree that Tyrod got a bad wrap, and deserved better on his way out....but his skin color had nothing to do with it. His numbers got worse each year as a starter (though not completely his fault). Not to mention before Allen, the last QB we took in the 1st round of the draft was EJ Manuel (also black,). We gave Tyrod 3 solid years to be a starter, which was way more then Baltimore/Cleveland gave him...so were they racist? No, cause it's ridiculous.
