Psychologically, Andrew Luck congratulating the guys who hit him serves to enforce that he’s a kind, good guy. Therefore, he’s less likely to be hit as hard in future by those he is paying a compliment to.

Luck 1000% is just that guy but it honestly never helped him. The Colts so terribly mismanaged his career and left him with a wet paper bag of an offensive line to such a degree that he was pretty severely injured twice, constantly in pain, and was starting to develop a little ptsd so he retired way too young. It’s a damn shame. There are teams out there right now that need to do better by their QBs. Bengals being one of them but to be fair they’ve been trying. Injuries and a couple draft busts/under developed players standing in their way. The Colts just ignored the problem.

That right there is why so many Americans have no respect for soccer, the players always flopping on the ground until the card is pulled then jump up and run, proving it wasn’t serious to start with. The only awards we feel soccer players deserve are Oscars, and Americans no longer watch the Oscars…..

Reminds me of a story I heard about Mean Joe Greene. His teammates always hoped someone would cut him or hold him at the beginning of the game and get him mad, 'cause he was almost unblockable when he got riled up. Then one game, the O-lineman he was lined up against would just chat with him between plays, call him "Mr. Greene", ask about his family, just talk chill and friendly. Joe made plays that game but wasn't his usual dominant self. Smart strategy.

Not a Colts fan, but, Andrew Luck was a class act. We need more players like him in the NFL.

I can't deny that IMHO, a little competitive trash talk is fun and an essential part of many sports. That being said, there is something about good sportsmanship that makes any game that much more fun to watch.

andrew luck complimenting d-linemen getting hits on him and then retiring early due to injuries is so sad but so funny
