I don't have a 1 liner that pops in my head from Rabs but man just hearing his voice again gives me the chills. Really miss his commentaries.

This is when Rugby league was at its roughest and most brutal and most exciting to watch!1 era… RAB’s Aka (Ray Warren) *is true Blue Legend & a Aussie Icon* He Was the voice of rugby league for over 3 Decades.. He’s what we would call king of commentary This man that made watching the game on the tv some of the most magical memories as a kid, teenager and fully grown adult spectating the sport from a small Rugby League Town with no team or stadium for miles to watch live still a worthy experience week in & week out.No commentators future past or pressent from any sport world even come close to this once in a life GOAT. & I’m Lovin the videos mate good to see an American 🇺🇸 so immersed in one of the greatest games ever made and supporting the Aussie Lads from The Land down under 🇦🇺 so Keep them coming bro. Just one thought if your looking at trying to boost your channel a lil think about getting a mate or 2nd person that’s just as passionate about rugby league as you are if you can find one or two then you can get 2 or 3 different perspectives and thoughts of the videos. Also be to ask each questions about the footage you just witnessed together for the first time just to add a new dynamic add a lil extra to each of your videos you bring out each week on the channel.. and made even do a lil interview wth some of the players via video chat or voom of the videos your using of them.. I. Sure most Aussies Rugby league Legends would be up for it bro if you can get in touch personally with them. But just ideas and thoughts of a fan💡tho for ya to think about bro..

Honestly I miss hearing Ray Warren calling our NRL games....He called all the plays and his enthusiasm was so enjoyable ....Today's commentators are so bad you can tell which team they have had a bet on....and usually heae them chatting about certain players and forgetting to call the game. All with big egos...Ray was a true legend and called every move....Mis those days so much. Thanks for this reaction my friend.

Rabs is a legend. Like you say, sometimes the voices make it so much better. For me, F1 has never been the same since Murray Walker retired and the NBA Finals always felt more special with Marv Albert.

I am 67 years old and have followed Rugby League avidly for all those years. Ray Warren is BY FAR the best commentator of Rugby League EVER. He is the master. There were others that, in their time, were the greatest, but Ray Warren has soared above them. It's a pity we don't hear him anymore.

The final time Ray Warren did Commentary was the 2021 Grand Final where the Panthers beat the Rabbitohs. They put that out on Bluray and I have that in my collection.

Ray Warren is a national treasure. As a kid I refused to watch a game unless he was calling. Sucks that he retired. Dan Ginnane is the best commentator these days.

#8 Cronulla Shark's winning their first premiership. Rabs Screaming,"You can turn the light off now!" Go's back to another famous rugby league old school commentator,Jack Gibson who said a very, very long time ago,"Waiting for Cronulla to win a premiership is like leaving the porch light on for Harold Holt." Harold Holt being a former Australian Prime minister who went missing & never found whilst skin diving hence never coming home. After that Cronulla premiership not only all of Cronulla but most of NSW left their porch light's on all night & some for weeks as a sign of respect & jubilation.

Dar this Video worth a watch of one my Towns (Mackay) local league Legends Benny Barba one of most talented rugby league players Eva. And That with having Players Like Daily Cherry Evans Nd Kalyn Ponga, Brett Dallas, Wendel Sailor, plus Dane Gagai and Josh Hoffman which the last two names are actually both his cousins and all superstars coming out of one small Mining town all the player I just named have all played State of Origin and represented Australia and New Zealand and the indigenous and Māori all star Squads. Benny still holds the record for being the youngest Daily M Medal (the most prestige Award in the NRL given to the best NRL player of the year) winner ever. It’s sad that This poor Lad had his Legacy that had ‘Professional rugby League career robbed from him by the NQLD Cowboys and the NRL for nothing more then being charged with public nuisance which I’m sure about 80% of NRL players all have it’s in their nature and culture.. and this all happened just after coming back from Playing and killing it in England and only the preseason before playing his first games for the Boy’s. Any way it 8 mins of his time playing super League over in England after being sacked By Cronulla for snorting some cocaine while on the Piss celebrating Cronulla Sharks (the team I’ve supported my Whole Life) first ever premiership win in the 50 years of becoming a club and apart of Australian Rugby League Competition way back when it was called Windfeild Cup AKA N.S.W. Rugby League. Right through to when the competition got divided and spit into two separate competitions which was ARL Aussie Version SuperLeague competitions Which that year was the only other time Cronulla shark made a grand final which the lost to Wayne Bennett Brisbane Broncos.. and even after that era The Sharks survived of the massive amount of teams that got cut or had to merger they nearly had to merger with the Balmain Tiger and be The tiger sharks thank god we didn’t so after surviving all that and and being apart of the competition that Known as today as the NRL they go and sack one of the star players and key contributors to the best year they ever had.. That Year Cornulla Sharks also had a pla called Valentine Homes another superstar he Actually tried out for the NFL and made the practice square only a month or two after the Cronulla sharks first ever grand final. I’m speaking about. P.S. Every Single player I’ve Mention are all super stars of the sport and worth watching Their highlight footage. I’ll throw the links below Benny over in England : kzread.info/dash/bejne/l36Nz6tylMa1nMY.htmlsi=-UAjX6O-yZ9JlWrD Benny about Bash News reporter LoL after Being Robbed of his Legacy : kzread.info/dash/bejne/jGx1z86LY9yTibA.htmlsi=Z3uG3iNF-yxeGjMU kzread.info/dash/bejne/oGyus9SCoKzVc5s.htmlsi=parvRXjxVc4Uyp_v And This video is worth a laugh Watching Benny a few months later being Harassed by the local Cops and making them look like a bunch of Porkie Pig 🐽 Bullies even called them all rapists that’s right rapists not racists lol😂 by Barba any way hope you enjoy all the footage! kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZIOZltWiaJqedtY.htmlsi=QRfpFh73ejjZfC85

The tries from the 80s - 90s were always spectacular because it wasn't as structured as today's game heaps of wild passes and crazy support play free flowing "footy" btw I'm not hating on today's game its way better and players are way better but I'm talking about the type of tries that were scored back then

  • @dom3335

Rabs is the best. I can't wait for AI to get good enough to call games live with his voice. With the Burgess hit a 7:08 notice the blood coming out the ear of the Tigers player, from the head clash. Just gets up and continues running for more metres. You're right some of the old Rugby League was great, but the quality of the footage isn't. Footy was best late 90's and 2000's. This year has been good but everyone saying it's the best NRL has been must be young. 80's was a lot tougher and more defensive focused, but not as good of a product.
