This one goes well beyond a song into a mantra. Lol. I am a christian who has always struggled with my faith. I got saved in high school and immediately got fascinated with predestination, Calvinism, apologetics etc. too confusing for a young Christian. I’ve also always struggled with mental illness. Im not alone or unique in this, but it is my my own history. This song encapsulates so much of that. Truly great reaction. Apologies, I generally don’t share that much but needed to this morning. Thanks

Hey man I'm glad you shared! I'm sure there's not a new Christian out there that hasn't had struggles with faith. When you first become a Christian it's awesome you feel like you have super powers and then after a little while when that new Christian smell wears off you start asking questions. Just ask God to answer any questions you have. He's big enough for us to ask him questions. He'll give you the answers you need when you start struggling in faith weather it's the way you think he'll answer or not.

I use to work at Walmart and day I hated working the worst was Sunday. 1. I missed out on going to morning service with my family and enjoying the community aspect of church. 2. The meanest customers I’ve had to suffer through were 70% of the time still wearing their Sunday best coming in at 12pm and being hangry and rude. 3. Several of them would have the attitude of “see kids, this is why you need to stay ing school and church.” When I couldn’t ever get a Sunday off cause they supplied the demand that made it so hard to get a Sunday off. So yeah I agree with your sentiments if just going to church isn’t a cure-all, you actually have to put in work and let god work in you.

Tims, black torn jeans, black shirt, black hoodie, black hat and painted smile. That's his style. U keep rocking ur boots. Like he said in the search about preforming and his fake smile. "I look at the crowd and see so many faces, yeah That's when I start to get anxious That's when my thoughts can be dangerous That's when I put on my makeup and drown in self-hatred." Loosely related to the therapy session album was a collaboration he did with futuristic. futuristic got horrible reviews after his 1st album and it sounds in this song that NF kind of changed his style. Also NF talks about how he got into the music industry and coming up in it and why he doesn't do drugs. At the end of their song he and futuristic are sitting in a therapy session. Songs called epiphany.

I think the only way people could interpret NF as violent is if they just heard the anger in his voice (in some of like his tracks, kinda like this one) or the beat might sound aggressive? I don't agree personally, but if you just heard the music at a glance without actually hearing lyrics maybe it could be interpreted as aggressive

  • @kellenfurbayern2915

I think a lot of the parents are trying to shield their kids from the realities of depression and anger things like that. So they say oh this music is aggressive it's violent as a reasoning for them to not listen. He not only talks about those things but he talks about dealing with those things.

I'm in my 50's and some people have told me they didn't realize i was that old to which i responded "that's because I act immature" :) Isnt that the way it goes, when you're 26 you kick yourself in the butt to act more mature, when your 53 you laugh and take it as a compliment that someone thinks you're young! I feel like Nate probably had a similar situation that you were talking about with the woman and church. I think because he is considered a "Christian" rapper that some people expect him to sing about God. I'm pretty sure the same woman who accosted you is probably the one who judged NF's music :) I always had the impression that this song is directed toward Christians and most likely Christians within the church. Kinda like NEEDTOBREATHE's song Difference Maker. Side note: If the mood stikes you ... if you ever feel like picking up your bass and playing the parts you are picking up in the background some people might enjoy it because they don't hear music as technically. Just a thought.

I just came across you in my feed, and I love NF, so I watched your reaction to 'The Search'. I really enjoyed it, and now I'm 7 reactions in and still going! One thing I wanted to point out in this song, though, is that the little girl who speaks to him about abuse is saying her mamma was being hit by her daddy, not her. It's still a form of abuse to her, in my opinion, but I just wanted to let you know :) Thanks for putting out these great reactions. I look forward to going back and watching them all! Also, I see you're a Gospel Musician, so I'm hoping to see some of your music as well.

A believer ought to believe that the power of Sin/the judgment of Sin was dealt with on the cross, once and for all. A believer believes because of what Christ has done, the Father see no Sin in us because we have Christ righteousness. Therefore, we are righteous believers. Perfect in God’s eyes.
