We all cry on this one I've seen it hundreds of times and still cry every time. This song saved my life my son showed it to me when I was deep into an opiate addiction. It affected me so deeply that it was the push it took me to seek treatment. I've been clean for 3 years. The power of Nate is a real thing 💙😌

And I will be eternally greatful for the courage it took him to expose darkest ,deepest secrets. In my eyes Nate will always be prophet.😊💚

@@brandimachulis7820 In an interview, Nate said, with proper therapy in the last couple years, he now understands what his mom was going through, being adducted, and he has been able to forgive her. He said he may not have made this song, if he understood when he wrote this song, but he knows this song has helped many people so it was worth doing it.

This hits me so hard every time I'm a 26 year old single father with sole custody. My boy has special needs and developmental delays because his mom used during pregnancy. He is a mirical. My goal in life is to make sure I can love him enough for both roles. It's hard when I work 50-60 hours a week. I work into the night to maximize time with him during the day. I'm going to buy us a house next year God willing. Much love for your reaction. If anyone is struggling love conquers all.

My son has custody of his 3 boys their mom is addicted as well. I watched the boys wait for their mom to come see them and never show up last year she seen them twice. Seeing their hearts break over and over was so painful but as a grandparent I have 0 rights so I comforted them every time to try and make their pain go away but it doesn't. My son is doing his best im proud of him for stepping up its not easy but definitely they are worth it.

Thank you for not editing out your emotions. We've all cried hearing this song, I still cry every time. I can barely listen to this as I lost my mom the same way. I was also in foster care and there were times my mom would call and cancel the weekends she was supposed to come visit me. I was lucky if I saw her once a month. My mom ended up OD'ing on drugs and alcohol. Nate writes music from the heart so raw and real it's like he's exposing all my emotions. Never had any artist do that to me before.

Welcome to crying in public bro I am like you I don’t sympathize but even the hardest out there have to empathize with this story. NF is an inspiration to so many who can sympathize that they aren’t alone and you can over come it. Also it’s okay to be broken over it but you can’t stay broke. I was a deputy and I had to take kids to DSS because their parent OD’d and weren’t able to take care of them. I’ve also had to be the one to tell them they were gone. The pain is real and children can’t comprehend and NF uses his gift as a lyricist to put this into words. This and Mansion are my NF top songs as they really are powerful songs. Praise God he chose to use his gift to help others rather then dying from his circumstances. I can’t imagine being abused and losing your mom to addiction and still being able to function!!! He cries in live performances too, #NFrealmusic isn’t just a brand it’s his life.
