I’m glad the video helped. I had mine hard wired in a few months ago and I’ve added a rear camera to it now. I do find transferring the files from it to my phone, so it’s just so much easier to remove the SD card and pop it in my laptop, the transferring is just too much of a faff, but I’ve had no issues with mine

I've just ordered a collection for my brand new 422 dashcam. The battery won't charge from the mains and it keeps turning itself on and off. I googled it and it's a very common issue with this brand. Maybe it's a great dash cam when it works but there's a ton of faulty ones out there. Be warned.

I have the same transcend you replaced it never loads to my phone via the wifi I’ve tried lots plus it’s flicking off and on when I exit the car for about 5 mins then stops , is the Nextbase a good replacement which do you prefer for footage night and day, you can buy a polarised filter lens to cut out the reflection I believe , have you tried one , good video 👍🏼

The quality of the footage from the next add is way better than the Transcend, BUT! It’s also a bloody faff to get the footage from the nextbase to my phone too, it’s a nightmare, so I just remove the SD card and out it in my laptop. I’ve not tried any other brand to see if it’s easier, but forget it, just take out the SD card, saves a lot of frustration.

You’re very welcome, great little dashcam 🥰, if you can get the set with the rear camera it’s definitely worth it.

I noticed you used a SanDisk sd card, does this work the same as a nextbase sd has on instructions it says to use a nextbase sd card.

I just got a new ScanDisk 3U card for it.

Anyone replacing another model with a Nextbase dash cam should check the connections as you may not have to remove the previous wiring

You’re absolutely correct, I’m puzzled on why a new product would use such an old connector? I moved mine better to suit and make use of the rear power point, but otherwise it would be as simple as removing the old dashcam and sticking on this one.

I can't understand why this video starts by showing an issue with a Transcend dashcam, when the title relates to the Nextbase 422GW?

Well, many people are coming from one type of dash cam to the other, some find it useful on issues I had with the old one and why I changed to the Nextbase.

Mine never came with a suction part. 😭 Just another sticker. And I've stuck it in a place I decided I don't like.

Ahhhh, I see what you mean, now they are there for a reason and I cant for the life of me remember why. If you were to buy another cable without it I can’t see any reason why. You should Google the reason why they’re there, I think it’s to do with voltage fluctuations not damaging the device.

Don't buy this camera, it is garbage. The rear view attachment wobbles all over the place creating video that is useless. The ball joint on the arm has gone loose so as you are driving the cam begins to fall and point upward and you can't even record the road at all but, strangely, also major psychological difficulty is created by the SOS system. So we signed up for the SOS but it repeatedly throws us out and doesn't work. Before owning this cam we never thought about being in an accident, just the type of thing you deal with if it happens. Now that the SOS doesn't work my wife actively worries about what will happen if she does have an accident. Total garbage, don't do it.

Sorry you’ve had that experience with it? The only issues I have are it’s a pain to download clips to the phone via the unit itself, it can sometime just not want to connect, but I just take out the SD card and do it on my laptop, easier.

That’s wonderful, my mum had hers fitted by Halfords and she had issues with her back camera, the only reason I asked was because of her, I had to reinstall hers from scratch as they’d made a bloody awful job of setting it up.
