hey man, i own the Godox's AD600, and when i turn the handle, there is a feature to allow me to pull out the handle as i turn. Have you tried to see if you can pull the handle out so that i won't scratch the body of the light? (it should be a spring-loaded feature)

Thanks for the great video as usual! FYI, the Amazon link for the light is dead.
i have to say, i love the delivery of your instruction and the passion that you have behind it! Keep up the great work! I have the plug in versions of these lights and had them out on a shoot recently, they really made a huge difference in my shoot.
Always love seeing your behind the scenes in the studio man!
Thx buddy! You pump out some amazing work and so blessed by your contribution to our community. Purchasing the lights today!
and I'm getting this. Thanks for the review on this. really appreciated you've included an actual application of this lights. :)
Thanks! I'm trying to decide what lighting system to jump to. This helps!
Thanks! I just discovered your channel, keep up the good work!
Keep up the great work , love you’re vids
Great video! As always, super helpful!
I love your content, it's amazing! And thanks for the lights, so useful!
Thanks for the review!! Looking into a good lighting setup and you just helped me buy giving me exactly what I needed to know!
Thank you! You are awesome! Very informative.
Hi and Wow what a right lighting can do. That's freaking beautiful. Boy I got so much to learn ! Thanks :D
finally a review of this. I have one, love it for wedding!
thanks man your videos are so helpful
Excellent review and showing the practical side of using 1 and 2 of these lights for product shots, something I was looking for!
Thank you for this video Skyler! Just got one of these and your video was helpful to put it to full use! 💜😊👍🏻 Cheers
great video! keep it up buddy...love ur channel
Wow! Found this channel by accident, and was really impressed with this video. Great info, great storytelling, great shots, and of course, great lighting. Dude--nice work! Big props! Keep up the great work!
As always, great video! Very informative. I have the Godox SL-200 which has more light output for video (however no battery). Only one thing, there are so many ads interrupting your fabulous videos!
thanks for the video. About the lever, it has a spring so you can pull it to avoid scratching the light.
Great content ✌ really enjoys your style of detailed explanation.. Cheers
Love the composition tips and driving the eye.
Amazing work like always. Great inspiration
They do look amazing for everyday use and I like their level of warmth, quite often constant lighting is very cold. As you pointed out you have kept your monos, I think they’ll be needed for all the splash shots etc and I’m not sure how the physics of constant lighting will overcome the advantages of super high speed sync.
Great video man!!! Thank you for sharing :)
I think what you need is light 🤪 In my last video I use a Godox SL 150 with a huge 48” octobox and the lens at 14f because is a Laowa 24mm macro. For food is insane that lens! I will prepare a new video of drinks sooner :)
Great review. Just got two of these in here. Loving them.
Thank you so much . I'm trying to improve my shooting by following your tips .
Thank you for a very informative video! Really enjoyed it!
Thumbs UP! Thank you for such a nice and insightful information. I know where I am heading to, now. Great content.
you have a great tutorial, thank you so much

Hey thanks 🙏
That definitely is what I lack to film my videos: lights! Can't afford any so far, but as soon as I will, I know where to go now 😌

Falcon EYES SO-28TD is a cost effective option that is battery and outlet powered and it doesn’t even need diffusion. Awesome constant light for product and general lighting. Gerald Undone has an awesome review on it. Check it out!
Great video man..subscribed..u do brilliant content
Good thorough review! Thank you.
Great review and lots to learn. Thanks!
Love it😃
THANKS TO ALL THE IDEAS ...
I have the SL60W from Godox. They are the non-battery versions, and they are fantastic. They have a really good SRI rating, so really good colour rating. The remote controls makes working with these ones, a lot easier too. Great video btw.

Excellent video thank you!
Thank you for your amazing video, just went on line and ordered me one...
Thank you for your chanle! would love to see more lighting videos!
you're awesome man thank u
Had been looking at these lights for a couple days, awesome timing on this review ! Could you give us some info on the table tops you use for your photography ?
thank you so much for this video, very true! -what you see is what you get. ☺️👍
Godox has real bang for the bucks!!
very good infoo!! ty!
I am also very happy with this light system. The fact that you can work with or without wires is also great when you shoot at a location that has poor supply for power outlets. Thank you for this review my mind is at peace that I purchased this light.

Awesome thanks that’s great to hear
Thanks for this video!! I have watched every other godox 60 or similar output light video hoping for some real world exposure data. So this really helps. I currently use strobes, but would like constant lighting for tabletop and for video as well. I really like the immediate feedback and being able to shoot wide fstops. I was also hoping to shoot portraits and small groups, but I’d like to be at f8- 1/60 plus, factor in larger light to subject distance and I’d need the NanLite Forza 500’s at the very least! I’m curious why you were at 70 percent on the last shot? I personally would have liked the extra 1/3 stop of shutter speed to combat any movement. Thanks again!
love your videos and style.
thanks for the very informative video
so cool !
Good info... Thanks! Do they use the same batteries as the Godox Strobes?
Hey great videos. What are you using as a burner in the opening intro?
Thanks for sharing , I will go for it when it available in India :)
I just came across your channel, I'm loving how informative you are and explain it in terms I can relate to. What was the company that you purchased your linen from?
let me be the first to say i am super excited to to see the notification for your newest post.
Do you have a link for the big diffuser? Thanx! Great video's by the way!
Cool video ❤ what trigger that you use to connect the light with the camera ?
Hey man what are those stands you got your tables tops on ive been looking for something like that
Assuming that its locked focus for overhead shots, what aperture would you recommend?
Splendid light :D
Hey Skyler - have you done a video yet dedicated to food video lighting? I wasn't able to find one and would love to hear your setup and opinions. I'm always trying to get bright and airy shots that look natural but struggle with it looking blown out when i use artificial lighting.
About the adjustment knob thingy at 11:35, i'm pretty sure you can pull that handle away from the body to turn it sort of like a ratchet so it doesn't hit your light. I noticed some of my cheap flash s-brackets with a similar handle do that.

Yeah just discovered that thanks 👍
Love watching your videos. Your photography and style are solid and so aesthetically pleasing. Do you do live workshops in the LA area? Where can I get that giant human size reflector / diffuser thing? I'm having a hard time finding it online. Many thanks! :)
Wow... that's a lot. thank you.
Well done, sir! What is the big defuser you are using?
Great show, very helpful....but I have a question. Why did you pick the Canon 5d-s..? Why not a different Canon.?
Brilliant recommendation there. I was just about to buy a continuous light. A quick question- any samples to see for fast shutter shots? Something at 1/800 or 1/1000? Have you tried any shot at that speed?

I haven’t tried
Just curious, your video really made me want to get this light for my KZread knife videos and food photography, but it is currently unavailable. What similar model would you recommend with the same functions?
Great value on these lights. But be aware of PWM flickering at low power and/or high frame rates.
Great Video! Question - Do you like that better over the Flapjack (Falcom eyes ) you also made a video on?
Skyler, thanks for the informative video. I've been wanting to buy a video light to shoot slowmo broll of food. Would you recommend the sl60w for shooting at 120fps? Does it have enough power? Also I've heard quite a few reports of flickering. How's your experience?
Superb bro... you should be having a food channel to... where you can share recipes..😅😅 .. nice style of cooking...love your videos...
This might be a silly question but can this be used simply by plugging into an outlet if i chose to? Thanks!
Just press down on the button on the handle and you can pull it out as you rotate to tighten or loosen. Works that way on all Godox/Flashpoint monolights.
You are Master in video light. When will you do a personalized workshop?
I still have my 1000 watts hot lights, that make the basil died in 2 minutes if you don’t do the shots fast 🤣

🤣🤣🤣I like fresh basil
Thanks for sharing this, I use an 135W LED Bulb with a soft box for my shoots and it makes the shutter speed go really really slow. I am always on a tripod so not a problem but with action shots I need more light. So this 60W light is then even less powerful than the normal LED bulb right or is it something different?
Hey where is that wooden table/backdrop from by chance? Thanks!
Where do you get those table tops from?
would you please make a video about photographing food with Fresnel light mixed with flashes?
Hey! How would you set up light if you had to make a video of a famous cheff cooking? Where you cannot be stopping every single moment to setup the shots and the surrounding kitchen was important too?
Damnnn really good !
In respect of food photography, would you prefer the 'Y' model or the more neutral (daylight) model?
Hello Sir, Please advise Canon 60D, 50mm STM and 28-55 is good for food and product photography
Hi could I ask you. I am going to buy godox SL200 for food photography. Could I go for it? Sometimes I shoot video with it?
did you ever consider the sl 60 version and buy external/battery DC/AC adapter ?
thanx very useful information just one question is it 60W enough to have power or do we need extra flash too for food photography ?
Very interesting!
Thanks that's so useful. I also wonder about soft boxes that are affordable, retractable and easy to store that can work with these light... I don't have a lot of space! thanks
How did you put the light on octabox?
November 2019 I bought one of the SL60W (AC powered) and a Godox pop-up softbox - 38" (80cm) square. The softbox came with a speedlite Bowens bracket, not suitable for the SL60W. I then ordered a Bowens ring by Godox suitable as a go between for the box and the SL60W. A word of advice on the rings; they come in different dimensions of diameter and the size of the locking tabs, affecting security of fit to both the light and the box, even within a brand. e.g the Godox speedlite ring is 10 mm larger diameter than the Godox accessory version. That's a night and day difference in the box about to fall off the mount. So if you can, order those things as a combo. I ended up making some of my own rings on a 3D printer. The SL60W box included that 7" aluminum dish and a few different "shower cap" style diffusers that stretch over that small dish. A common package listed on Amazon. I can't see myself using the shower caps. I keep the box because it packs everything nicely in shaped foam. For shot setups like this episode, 50% power is about all I need. For doing an interview subject from about 6 feet, I estimate 70% and up in an unlit room. I don't notice the fan noise at all. I'd be putting a lapel mic on the subject anyway. I'm very happy with the product to price ratio on both products.
I have never used light but I want to try to photograph for stock various scenes that I would make on my desk and sometimes food. Can I do this with with slb60 or are you suggesting something else for a beginner
I just wonder if 60w is good enough for food/product photography after all if there is no ambient light
I am actually considering the Godox ML60 as a supplement for my Godox AD600 (I find the strobe a bit too time consuming since there is a lot of shooting and adjusting). The ML60 is also for bit of video filming. Do you find he SLB60 powerful enough for food photography? And for video? Do you have problems with fan noise? Thanks in advance ;-)
Would you recommend these for an on-location shoot at a restaurant?
Hii, In this battery version, can we light this up with electricity source if incase we dont want to attach the battery with this led light or this will work only with battery. Thanks
I'm a beginner, even my camera hasn't arrived yet, and I'm looking to start buying a godox sl60 + two yn360III to take pictures of food. the camera i bought is an xt3 + 35mm f2, do you think it would be a good start?
