Newsies at the turn of the century
Newsboys as young 6 years old hit the streets of Wilmington, St. Louis, New Haven, Jersey City, St. Louis and New York City. The HD photos and video give a glimpse of life on the streets for these young boys: Hard work, gambling, smoking and fighting.
All photographs are from the lens of Lewis Wickes Hine, 1908-1912, courtesy of the Library of Congress. Video is from the American Mutoscope and Biograph Company, 1903, courtesy of the Library of Congress. Frozen Bill Cakewalk is performed by Arthur Pryor's Band, 1909, courtesy of archive.org.

Thanks for posting, I appreciate the description. I was a paperboy but long after this era, in a small town, a unique capture of a special time in American history.
Excellent!
I came here from You’re Wrong About.
