Robert A Heinlein, in his "Future History" series, predicted a new religious wave, taking a totalitarian turn. He saw it as coming in reaction to the "Crazy Years" period, which we have seen with the whole "woke" etc moment. And of course Len Peikoff has this also described in his DIM analysis.
