It was 1986 when our family immigrated to Korea. I was in high school back then, and it was so hard to adjust to a new culture, let alone make friends. There was this classmate who was just as awkward as me, though. We happened to meet one time in a cd shop in Korea, both looking for this NewJeans album--the lyrics match our situation so much. Fast forward, we're now married and expecting our second child. So if you see a middle-aged couple acting like highschool sweethearts in a cd shop while listening to Ditto, that's us.

as an 80s music enthusiast, I'm so glad I found this hidden gem!

When it was 1986, my grandparents took me into care when I came in Seoul. I had much less restriction to things. I could hang out with my friends until dark, eat loads of ice cream, and cut my own hair! I remember meeting my friends at different shops everyday for the entirety of highschool. In the middle of autumm, I was waiting for them to arrive from their tutoring classes. This exact song started to play in the bookstore, I was so inlove with this song. I asked the manager what song it was. He replied it was DITTO by NEWJEANS. After my friends left, I went to local CD store. I bought a CD of it, I would play every night. I would hum the song all the time, I had the whole song memorized. I am so glad they uploaded the song onto the internet, I sadly lost my CD when I traveled to America. It brings back memories of my teenage years❤

I was 15 travelling to SK with my family in 1985. We were staying there for about 6 years. As a Greek, I was struggling to make friends since I obviously didn't speak Korean and it was hard to adjust to a new culture. I remember I always listened to this. It was my favorite song, and still is. One day, when i was at school, I met this girl named Sae-ron. She told me that she had a friend from Greece and that she wanted to introduce her to me. Her name was Amalia. She had this weird accent that I loved and we liked to listen to ditto together. Anyways, one day me, Amalia and Sae-ron went shopping to a CD shop. We were looking for Ditto, like everyone else. We got the last 3 of them and listened to Ditto every day, every hour, every minute.. Fast forward to today, we're now all 53 and still best friends. How? We reunited in Greece after 4 years. Ditto will forever be my favorite song, since it holds on to so many memories.

I was 6 years old when this song was released by Old Jeans. My sister was the same age with them when they released it, and it turns out that New Jeans' cover of this song has become more modern. My grandchildren love it too. Ah this brings back memories 🥰🥰

I am 57 now and listened to this song on radio on my way to home such good days

I still remember, this was the song that played during our prom in the summer of 1986. All students gushed over how their partners asked them to dance at the center. Ahhh youth

How come so many talented people are releasing those amazing remixes but they have so few subs and they're unknown. 😭😭😭🔥🔥🔥Genius work btw.

this brings back to old memories of when i was 14 back in the 80's. i was in my first year of highschool and me and my friends would have this on repeat. now hearing this after a while is making me so nostalgic, this song will always have a special place in my heart.

It was 1987, school had barely started and I was looking to spend money I earned on my summer job on the latest Michael Jackson record. I went to the local record store and asked the store clerk but he said they were out of stock of copies, so I instead searched around the store to maybe find something else, and I chanced upon this neat record that has a bunny wearing shades & polka dot accessories in the cover at the back of the store which intrigued me enough that I picked it up and took it to the counter. I asked the store clerk if he knew what it was, yet for some reason he had no idea, but I was so intrigued that I still bought it. I immediately went home to play it, and I instantly fell in love, the vocals & production were magical, almost otherworldly if I may say. I tried telling people in my class about NWJNS yet no one seems to have heard of them, but it didn’t stop me from playing the record nonstop until one day, it just disappeared inexplicably. I tried searching everywhere and asking people but no one seems to know. I was devastated but eventually with time, I just moved on and forgot about it… until KZread recommended this to me after over 30 years. It sounds as great as I remember, takes me back to my younger days when things were simpler. I’m wondering why this group didn’t become huge, perhaps in another reality they’d be the biggest group in the planet…
